Don’t Worry Darling star Florence Pugh turned heads at the Venice Film Festival looking like this, and if you look closely in the background of this photo, you’ll notice someone other than the usual press photographers snapping photos of her Valentino haute couture dress: co-star Chris Pine with a disposable camera.

On Sept. 7, Pugh reacted to Pine’s quirky red carpet interaction from two days prior in an unexpected Instagram post about her experience at the festival: “I also just can’t help but post how bloody cute and hilarious Chris Pine is for being the No.1 photographer, getting down on white pressed trousered knees for angles.”

The Instagram post came as a surprise to everyone watching the Don’t Worry Darling drama unfold before and during the festival in Italy. Despite the many controversies — like Spitgate — that have plagued the Don’t Worry Darling production and world premiere, Pugh is taking the high road in her lengthy Instagram caption.

“I’m still taking it all in! Qwoaaar. What a moment this was? A massive congratulations to everyone standing on that carpet,” the 26-year-old wrote. “We premiered in Venice! A huge wonderful win in itself. I’d never been to Venice Film Festival before. It was mega! The crowds! The cheers! The energy was incredible.”

Pine squatted beside co-star Nick Kroll, forming wrinkles in his white pants, to capture Pugh’s outfit, which Vogue called “breathtaking” and described the Valentino ensemble as a “black glitter-printed tulle dress, embroidered with silver sequins.”

Pugh was just as excited to see Pine and Kroll, dramatically running past co-lead Harry Styles and director Olivia Wilde to interact with him.

All eyes were on Pugh, with her co-stars like Gemma Chan, stealing glances left and right.

In Pugh’s Sept. 7 Instagram caption, she swept any drama aside and made sure to show her gratitude. “To all the cast and crew as well who helped to make this movie, thank you for all of your hard work,” Pugh said. “We genuinely wouldn’t have been there without your talent and we appreciate it hugely.”

Pugh wrapped up her thorough caption praising 42-year-old Pine’s efforts while wearing white pants and a bowtie: “Now that’s dedication. Love you Chrissy.”

Pine exchanged his disposable camera for sunglasses and a blazer for the screening inside the Sala Grande theater, where fans thought Styles spat on Pine. A rep for Pine told Variety that the spitting rumor is a “complete fabrication,” adding, “There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
