Brian Anthony Hernandez is the Senior Celebrity News Editor at Bustle, where he manages editors and writers, monitors analytics, and ensures coverage remains diverse and inclusive. He assigns, edits and writes stories about celebrities in the worlds of music, movies, TV and social media.

Before joining Bustle in 2021, “BAH” worked as an entertainment editor, online producer, internship coordinator, music writer, and content strategist for Billboard, MTV, Forbes, Genius, Fuse, and Mashable in New York City and Los Angeles. BAH lives in San Francisco, where he co-parents a puppy named Rey.

BAH is a member of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. BAH attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and he trained his editing skills as part of the American Copy Editors Society, Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, and New York Times Student Journalism Institute. BAH also has written and edited at top newspapers in Phoenix, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Des Moines and other cities, covering the entertainment business, the music industry, diversity, equality, social issues, health, crime, courts and major pop culture events such as the Super Bowl, Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, MTV VMAs, Coachella and national elections.

Because of stories BAH has written, he’s been interviewed by and quoted in The Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Today Show, USA Today, Businessweek, Huffington Post, International Business Times, Examiner and more publications. BAH has been picked to be on the voting panels for the MTV VMAs and Shorty Awards. He’s appeared on TV, online video and radio segments. He’s moderated panels for South by Southwest, Ad Week, Social Good Summit, Media Summit, Public Relations Society of America and Capitol Congress.

When BAH isn’t meeting or interviewing his favorite legends like Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Lady Gaga in person, he’s engaging in social issues, advocating for diversity and interacting online with celebrities.
