April showers may bring May flowers, but they also bring an abundance of days perfect for cozying up on your couch and queuing up a bunch of Netflix shows you'll want to watch all the way through. As you know, when you finish one series, you need to add a few (or more) marathon-worthy series to your must-watch list to fill the void. So much TV, so little time — and there are tons of shows you may not have had the pleasure of diving deeply into (yet). The streaming service starts off every month by adding to its expansive list of titles with buzzy, highly anticipated new series, but there are also some gems that have long been featured on the Netflix that could still use just as much love.

We've all had days where we've become so invested in a show on Netflix that doing anything productive pretty much isn't even an option until we've finished the show entirely. Whether you're a big fan of crime dramas or you have a soft spot for long-running comedies, there are TV series you should start watching stat, if you already haven't. Get comfy, because these shows will totally hook you for many, many episodes.

1

'Parks And Recreation'

NBC

With as many reality shows and documentaries as there are on television right now, Parks and Rec is a mockumentary with the perfect balance of comedy and politics. Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope is the female lead character you need in your life right now, and her development over the course of the show’s seven-season run alone is worthy of applause.

2

'The Office'

NBC

Another mockumentary style show that was met with critical acclaim, The Office was a hilarious, star-studded comedy that’s likely a way more amusing look at how you picture things when you go to work every day.

3

'The Vampire Diaries'

The CW

The show may have just recently ended after eight seasons, but just one episode of the supernatural drama set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls is enough to leave you wanting so much more of all the wacky and blood-sucking storylines.

4

'Charmed'

The WB

Earlier this year, fans were met with the announcement of a Charmed reboot featuring an all-new cast on The CW. Not much more information has been given about when the show will officially premiere, but that just means you have more than enough time to catch up — and get hooked — on all eight seasons of the original series.

5

'Gilmore Girls'

The WB

Because there's no way you'd be able to resist not watching just one more episode of everyone's favorite mother-daughter duo. When you're finished, you may as well keep the party going with the show's recent revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

6

'Breaking Bad'

AMC

Imagine if your high school chemistry teacher turned to a life of crime and began manufacturing crystal meth. Yes, it sounds unbelievable — all the more reason for you to watch this series and not turn away for a second.

7

'Gossip Girl'

The CW

Once Leighton Meester and Blake Lively took to the small screen to bring Cecily von Ziegesar’s book series of the same name to life, every teenager could only dream of being as ruthlessly cool as Blair Waldorf, or as sociable and dreamy as Serena van der Woodsen. Gossip Girl may have been a bit of a fantasy on what it’s like to be a privileged teenager living in Manhattan, but from beginning to end, the show’s intensity was hard to look away from.

8

'How I Met Your Mother'

CBS

It may take you nine whole seasons to get the answer to the most important question that the show poses, but it's a wild and hilarious ride that's definitely worth it.

9

'Skins'

E4

The British series and its short-lived North American counterpart sparked a ton of controversy during its time on television, so you might as well take a dive in and see what all the fuss was about.

10

'Weeds'

Showtime

Weeds is a product of Jenji Kohan, aka the mastermind behind Orange is the New Black, which is pretty much a dead giveaway that the show about a widowed mother who resorts to selling marijuana is the perfect mixture of drama, crime, and comedy.

11

'13 Reasons Why'

Beth Dubber/Netflix

13 Reasons Why was added to Netflix's list of arrivals at the beginning of April. Anyone who plowed through all 13 episodes knows by now that we've officially uncovered all 13 reasons as to why the show's protagonist took her own life — but we were also left with some major cliffhangers at the season's end, and it hasn't exactly been made clear whether the show will be coming back for a second one.

Still, 13 Reasons Why takes a hard look at suicide, depression, and bullying, and it's a must-watch, even if you've already read Jay Asher's book of the same name.

12

'Glee'

FOX

Any time you're in need of a musical pick-me-up, Glee is your ticket.

13

'Private Practice'

ABC

You’re still heavily invested in Grey’s Anatomy as the drama of Season 13 continues — but elsewhere, a familiar face left her days at Grey Sloan behind to live out her dreams just south of Seattle.

OK, so Addison might not have been your favorite character on Grey’s, thanks to that love triangle with herself, Meredith, and Derek, but her Los Angeles-based spin-off with Taye Diggs and Audre McDonald had just enough drama and sexual tension to carry itself for six seasons on ABC. We even got a deeper look at Amelia’s personal life and her struggle with addiction.

So snuggle up, get some snacks, and get ready to marathon these shows until their series finales.
