Not to date myself too much, but when I was graduating, the only song lyrics options I had for posting on MySpace was that old Vitamin C song "Graduation (Friends Forever)." You know how it goes: "As we go on/ we remember/ all the times we had together/ as our lives change/ from whatever/ we will still be friends forever." Sorry, not sorry — I hope it's stuck in your head all day now too. Anyway, I digress: kids these days have way more options. Not only are there tons of quotes about graduation to put in captions, but also kids these days are pretty deep. They wouldn't flinch before quoting a great literary icon or folk songstress in a photo caption. That whole concept of academic things being uncool has totally imploded. Being smart is actually really in. Caring about education is the coolest, and being philosophical and deep is totally the new brand of the graduating classes of millennials.

So because they can handle it, and because I wish I had a second chance to go back in time and make more interesting song quotes to accompany my graduation photo albums, here some cool quotes for the class of 2017:
