AJ McLean & Liam Payne Dancing Together Will Make Your Boy Band-Loving Heart Sing

As far as “things that will never lose their luster” go, Backstreet Boys teaching non-Backstreet Boys how to do the choreography from the “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” music video has to be in the top 10. No, top five. On Tuesday, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean wrote on Instagram, “Gonna be doing something fun today with Liam from One Direction so stay tuned ????” Uh, say what now? What could it be? A few hours later, we got our answer in the form of a Boomerang. In the looping video, McLean and Payne do a move from “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” together. And yes, it is awesome.

McLean wrote in the caption,

“Ran into the bro @liampayne at the secret society of boyband members meeting!! Lol #StripThatDown #Everybody #AJSoloAlbum.”

Hold the phone. Why did McLean tag his and Payne’s video with “#AJSoloAlbum”? Could Payne be on McLean's forthcoming second solo record? Are... are these two esteemed boy banders working on music together? Is the "AJSoloAlbum" the "something fun"? Or is the "#AJSoloAlbum" just there for kicks? Are we reading too much into that hashtag? Quit playing games with our hearts, hashtag.

According to Teen Vogue, Payne and McLean stopped by Musical.ly's Muser Mingle on Tuesday to commemorate the addition of “Strip That Down” to the app. And at some point during the event, McLean sang “I Want It That Way.” Well, that sure does sound like "something fun." Looks like the "something fun" mystery has been solved.
