All Mariah Carey wants this Christmas is for you to see her new film. The singer took to Twitter to announce that "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has been turned into a movie with the same name, but it may not be the kind you'd expect: "My song is becoming a movie! You’re the first to hear about this exciting news!" She even teased a trailer for the movie, which announces that every holiday season has its traditions: the tree, the stockings, the presents, and, of course, Mariah Carey. "I don't want a lot for Christmas," the singer says while lounging on a couch in her plaid pajamas with one of her many Jack Russell terriers. "This Christmas, there's just one thing I need." If you guessed an animated movie based on her best-selling song, well, then you'd be right.

The film, slated for release holiday 2017, is based on Carey's 2015 picture book All I Want For Christmas Is You. Look close and you'll even see the book, written by the singer and illustrated by Colleen Madden, propped up on the couch. She adapted the song into a book that focuses on a young girl who looks a lot like Mariah and would like nothing more than to get a new puppy for Christmas. It's safe to assume the movie will, too — though Carey didn't give up those details in this clip.

In fact, the singer doesn't give much away about her next project like at all. A press release revealed it will be out on "Blu-ray, DVD, digital HD, and on-demand" this upcoming holiday season, but that's about it. Heck, Carey doesn't even let us know if she'll be in it or not. However, she did let fans know All I Want has its own Twitter account. The film, which launched its account in November 2016, hasn't tweeted yet, but she promises she will update you on all the movie magic to come. And, boy, has it been a long time coming.

Honestly, how has it taken so long for this beloved holiday song from 1994 to get its own movie? Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has become a holiday staple, and, though the trailer for her new movie is trying to be cheeky, it really has become part of most people's holiday traditions. Hearing it lets you know Christmas is coming. That's why, as of 2013, Carey's song had reportedly earned $50 million in royalties, according to Cosmopolitan.

Now, the pop star is looking to turn her song into a classic holiday movie. This wouldn't be the first time she has tried to corner the market on Christmas flicks. Carey already directed and co-starred in the Hallmark Channel original A Christmas Melody and has signed a three-movie deal with the channel.

On the other hand, Carey's got some stiff competition, since "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is already a movie standout. It's hard to forget the Love Actually scene that introduced us to a little girl who could give the pop queen a run for her money. (Of course, the verdict's still out on whether Carey knows her. Sorry, I had to.)

Either way, we're about to get another holiday classic, you guys, and I couldn't be more excited.
