If you're itching for another royal wedding, it might be time to start the countdown. Although most of their relationship has been kept very private, it sounds like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be getting serious. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Markle opened up about dating Harry, and from what she said about him — and the fact that she spoke about him at all —  it sounds like they could end up tying the knot in the not so distant future.

In November 2016, Harry confirmed their relationship when he released a statement asking the press to stop the "abuse and harassment" that Markle had been subjected to after rumors that they were dating first got out. Since then, details about their time together have been few and far between — until now.

When she was asked about how all that press and tabloid coverage affects her now, nearly a year later, Meghan told Vanity Fair:

It has to be unimaginably stressful to have your every move documented the way Markle's has been since she started dating Prince Harry, so it's good to hear that she's doing everything she can to avoid letting it get to her. But what's most interesting about what she told VF is that she and Harry are in love. Of course, it's easy to assume as much after seeing them together, but saying it out loud? That's a big deal.

The royal family's relationships are so different from the way we typically see most celebrity relationships unfold in the spotlight. Without Harry being on social media — and Markle not posting on Instagram since last April — it's hard to tell what's actually going on between them. So now that Markle is even mentioning their relationship and the fact that they're happy and in love, it's easy to assume that they're headed for a future together.

Besides, there's always that chance that this interview (and Markle talking about Harry) is at least partly a strategic move approved by the palace. The article is blatantly calling attention to their relationship — the title is "Wild About Harry." Maybe, this time, it's intentional press?

And it definitely seems like things are different in Harry's relationship with Markle than it was with his exes in the past. Both of his long term girlfriends before her, Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, didn't speak about what it was like to date him until after they'd already broken up, and Harry certainly never issued a statement asking the press to leave them alone. Even Kate Middleton kept quiet about dating Prince William, and they didn't do an interview about their life together until they were engaged. Markle and Harry are breaking the mold, and it could mean that they could be planning an engagement soon.

They've only been dating a year, but there's something special about this relationship that makes it stand out among the others Harry has had over the past few years. After reading this interview, it seems Markle could be joining the royal family soon, which is a really exciting thought. Is there anything better than getting up in the middle of the night to watch a wedding at Westminster Abbey, after all?
