It's been a little over two years since Nicki Minaj released her chart-topping album The Pinkprint. So it's safe to say that fans are eager for a new project release date to hit the horizon. It's recently been announced that Minaj will be opening the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, and I have so many questions — which songs she'll perform and with whom, obviously being at the top of the list. The rapper has been dropping singles and diss tracks here and there, but no official word about them forming a cohesive project has been announced as of yet. And because she's oh-so unpredictable, I'm thinking that Minaj opening the Billboard Music Awards may mean new music is on the way.

According to USA Today, Minaj's nine-minute performance will pay homage to her entire career. The show's executive producer Mark Bracco revealed to the publication that the "No Frauds" artist is going to deliver "an epic opening." He also dished, “She’s opening the show as a way of honoring a great achievement she had on the Billboard charts this year."

What Billboard achievement, you ask? Oh, just a little triumph for being the female artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 songs — officially breaking queen of soul Aretha Franklin's long-standing record of 73, with 76. The hip-hop queen will also be joined by Jason Derulo, David Guetta, and Lil Wayne, so you can bet that "Light My Body Up" and "Swalla" snippets will be on the horizon.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Minaj let out a few bars of some of her earlier hits like "Moment 4 Life" and "Super Bass." Commemorating her latest Billboard achievement, and with nine minutes to fill, this could also be the perfect opportunity for her to close her set with a world premiere of a new single. And, say... a possible announcement for her forthcoming album? You know, taking a nod from her pal, and collaborator, Queen Bey?

OK, OK, I'll stop trolling now. I just think the timing couldn't be more perfect for a Minaj LP to hit the shelves. Summer's right around the corner, and I know I'm not the only one in desperate need of some bangers to ride to.
