It really is a shame that stars are, as a certain heiress once sang, blind. Because that means that the celestial bodies will never be fortunate enough to gaze upon the glorious image that same heiress posted in honor of Flashback Friday. This week, Paris Hilton flashed back to the early 2000s with a photo of herself and Britney Spears. The first word of the caption: “#Legends.” I see no lies.

Spears and Hilton are legendary, and I will not hear otherwise. First of all, Spears is one of the biggest pop icons of all time. She ruled Total Request Live for years, appeared on The Mickey Mouse Club, delivered some life-changing VMAs performances, and judged The X Factor. Plus, she her own holiday in Las Vegas, and may or may not be the inventor of the fedora. A legend is a legend is a legend.

As for Hilton? She starred in the phenomenal reality show The Simple Life, released a genuinely great pop single (“Stars Are Blind” is legit awesome, keep your ironic fandom to yourself), became a New York Times bestselling author, used reality TV to find a best friend, was Kim Kardashian’s boss, and may or may not have invented the catchphrase “That’s hot.” Once again, a legend is a legend is a legend.

Without further ado, I present two legends being legendary.

What is my favorite part of this photo? Is it Spears’ newsboy cap? The sea of blonde highlights? Hilton’s shiny lowrider pants? Spears' lowrider jeans? All of the bronzer? Their tiny tops? Their shiny and bright smiles? The '00s of it all? Oops, that first question was a trick question. All of the parts are my favorite part.
