Dua Lipa’s Sheer Met Gala Dress Was Peak Flapper Girl
See-through and feathery, the LBD lived up to the assignment.

Dua Lipa cemented her Met Gala cred the moment she was named a co-chair in 2023, but the “Levitating” songstress doesn’t rest on her laurels, choosing to up the ante year after year. And for the 2025 shindig on Monday night, the 29-year-old Grammy winner didn’t disappoint, interpreting the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with the essence of a 1920s flapper girl: risqué, dramatic, and oh-so frilly.
Dua’s See-Through Gown
On Monday, May 5, Lipa rocked a sheer halter dress with the a mishmash of intricate details. The halter top featured a mesh overlay against a black beaded brassiere, along with a diaphanous torso, save for the crisscross patterned detail accented with gothic-style cross crystal embellishments.
The bottom half of the dress also featured opaque and translucent details. Feathers covered her hip and thigh area, while a longer, floor-length chiffon fabric peeked under the frilly mini. Between the sheer details and the plume-covered skirt, the look was definitely flapper-inspired.
The “Houdini” singer completed her look with more 1920s touches, including opera gloves in the same sheer fabric with bedazzled accents.
From Gala To Date Night
Fashion’s biggest night also marked Lipa’s red carpet debut with actor Callum Turner. Though dating murmurs first hit the rumor mill in 2023, buzz about potential wedding bells cropped up earlier this year, when the singer posted a photo of what many believed to be an engagement ring on *that* finger. Still, the pair hadn’t walked a red carpet together until the May 5 gala.
As expected, Turner also showed out in a sleek dapper look. Decked in Louis Vuitton, he wore a black double-breasted suit with a white button-down and matching white tie. Peep his black shoes, which also featured ivory dotted details.
A couple that slays the Met Gala together, stays together.
