This artist kills the game many arenas, but besides being super talented, super beautiful, and super charming, she has killer trendy style. Carrie Underwood performed last night at Jimmy Kimmel Live! wearing a gorgeous fringed dress with a high neckline and over-the-knee boots. While keeping up with the ever-changing trends and styles in the fashion industry is hard work, she always makes it look easy no matter what she wears.
It seems like new trends pop up every. single. day. It can be exhausting trying to figure out what's in, what's out, and how to pair those trends with other trends and classic pieces in order to stay on top of things. Really, I'm getting tired just thinking about it. But like I said, Underwood is always so on-trend that she makes it look like it's a piece of cake. But I wouldn't expect anything else from the absolutely gorgeous and charming 32-year-old crooner.
So, in some respects, the fact that she looked stunning in a very of-the-moment outfit during her performance at Jimmy Kimmel was no surprise. That being said, not everyone can rock an outfit like this with such confidence. Let's take a peek at the ensemble, shall we?
Sigh, if only I could look that good in fringe. Underwood's mini dress had layers of detailing and an adorable silhouette that showed off her killer legs and her toned arms. The high neckline added extra personality, but kept it chic with a dash of contrasting black detailing which tied into her over-the-knee peep toe boots. Her boots really gave the ensemble that extra oomph. You can see the details better in this tape from the performance.
Paired with some dazzling jewels, the look was glamorous and feminine, an effect that was only elevated by Underwood's big, voluminous hair and sexy, smokey eye. These details play off well against the fun outfit.
Not many people, let alone celebs, would dare to pair a trend with a trend, but that's exactly what Underwood did here. And guess what? She looked drop-dead-gorgeous while doing it. Underwood may be the only style and beauty inspiration you need for this autumn and winter season, because clearly she's killing the game, and we're only a few weeks into the colder months.
Surprise surprise — this isn't the first time Underwood has looked fabulous in trends. Let's check out some of her past ensembles that truly exemplify why she is the queen of ultra current style.
1. Embellished Jacket
One of the most covetable items of the season is a bomber jacket or a classic biker jacket. Underwood's version is an in-between of both, and involves lot's and lot's of sparkles and sequins. But being a superstar, she totally rocks it.
2. Tights With Shorts
Just because it's winter doesn't mean this southern girl is going to give up her shorts. Underwood's ensemble is a perfect example of how to transition some of your favorite summer pieces into the colder months — and shows why tights aren't all that bad.
3. Sheer Black Fabric
This gown she wore to perform at the Country Music Awards was beyond gorgeous. The black sheer detailing at her chest, though, gave it that trendy yet chic vibe Underwood usually goes for.
4. Asymmetrical Details
There's no doubt Underwood knows how to pick a gown. But this one, with asymmetric detailing on both the sleeves and the gold cut-outs, is a major winner.
5. Hi-Lo Skirt
Granted, this hi-low skirt trend may be a little out of date. But Underwood still looked gorgeous in this peachy, gold gown for the 48th annual Country Music Awards last year.
6. Tuxedo Trend
Underwood's version of the androgynous tuxedo trend features a pair of shorts with a long, voluminous blazer. Without a doubt, Underwood aced it.
7. Slit Skirt
In my opinion, Underwood's take on the slit-leg gown is better than Angelina Jolie's version from the 2012 Academy Awards.
And that, my friends, is how you do "trendy" right.
