Chanel Would Be Proud Of This Emma Roberts Getup

by Rosie W.

Calling Scream Queens fans: Emma Roberts wore a furry jacket and the result was totally Chanel-worthy. Whether you love or hate Scream Queens, (I fall firmly in the middle), the show can't be faulted for giving Roberts the freedom to sink her chops into the ridiculously over-the-top Chanel Oberlin — sorority president, clotheshorse, and potentially murderous brat. Chanel keeps to an ultra feminine look in the show, favoring pastels, fur, skirts, and silky nighties, and Roberts' look, styled by design house Elkin, fits right in with her aesthetic.

Although Roberts has made some fashion missteps in the past, for the most part she plays it classic and simple, starring in an unretouched ad campaign for American Eagle's lingerie brand Aerie (if that line isn't the holy grail of classic and simple, I don't know what is). Her recent collaboration with Elkin showcases Roberts modeling designs for the brand's fall lookbook. The looks, which incorporate retro trends, were to Roberts' taste. Designer Brit Smith, sister of fellow designer and co-owner Kara, tells Fashionista, "The three of us always talk about how we love a dark, '90s witchy look mixed with a classic '60s French-inspired boarding school girl sort of look. So we merged these two looks for this collection." Elkin styled the snap that Roberts posted to her Instagram with pieces from the collection.

While the outfit features a skirt and top combo that would probably be too groovy for Chanel's taste, she'd likely approve of the heavy sunglasses and leopard print coat — unless one of her underlings dared to wear it first. Here's how Chanel would rank seven of Roberts' other looks, from a look deserving of Ms. Bean's fate to one worthy of Kappa Kappa Theta.

1. Plaid and Jeans

Roberts looks cute and very Ralph Lauren in this outfit, but Chanel does not believe in pants (unless they're Chad Radwell's). Extra points off since mortal loser Grace would wear this at the drop of a hat.

2. Netted Cocktail Dress

Well, can't fault her for taking a risk. Chanel, however, can.

3. Black Cocktail Dress

Oh look, it's On Wednesdays We Wear Black.

4. Plaid Cocktail Dress

Chanel might — just might — be caught dead next to a sister in this dress. But only because she would look better.

5. Old Hollywood Glamour

Chanel: "Who are you, Glenda the Good Witch?"

6. Geometric Midi

Add a fur coat and sunglasses and this might be fitting for a pledge.

7. Pink And Feminine

Chanel would totally wear this look once. Then she'd burn it so nobody could ever wear it again.
