Will Kylie Jenner & Tyga Stay Together?

by Michelle McGahan

It's been a confusing week for Kylie Jenner and Tyga shippers (and for the couple themselves, LBH). One minute, the kontroversial kouple is sharing romantic and glamorous AF shots from Kris Jenner's Gatsby-themed 60th birthday bash, the next, Jenner and Tyga reportedly ended things in a messy breakup due to "something Tyga did." Only hold the phone, because they're now either back together (or never actually broke up at all), with Jenner silencing rumors with a telling Snapchat and the pair attending Justin Bieber's AMAs after-party together. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? Will Kylie Jenner and Tyga stay together? And most importantly, will we ever see that inevitably lavish AF Kylie Jenner-Tyga wedding?

There's no doubt that Jenner, 18, and Tyga, 26, had a messy week, to say the least — and it still remains to be seen if they actually ever broke up at all — but it seems as if they're pretty damn intent on staying together, in the way that an 18-year-old and a 26-year-old are determined to make things work. If that means they'll be together for the long run, who knows. But as for right now? The reality star and the rapper look like they're in it to win it, despite the dramatic events of this past week. Let's break it down.

Jenner and Tyga were friends for years before going public with their relationship on the reality star's 18th birthday this August, on which she was gifted a six-figure Ferrari from the rapper. But just in case a $260,000 car doesn't say "I'm in this for the long haul," Jenner also starred in the rapper's "Stimulated" video, which showed a surprisingly soft and adorable side of the couple, despite the, um, vulgar lyrics in the song. Not to mention that the two have been frequent fixtures in each other's Instagram posts for years, sharing sweet, silly, and yes, some completely narcissistic shots of themselves. #RelationshipGoals?

And despite reports of their abrupt and "nasty" breakup earlier this week, Jenner appeared to put an end to those rumors with a Snapchat photo of her legs cuddled up with Tyga's on the couch, captioning the pic: "Everyone needs to chill." This photo was then followed by a Snapchat vid celebrating the rapper's birthday — a milestone occasion in the timeline of the supposed Jenner/Tyga breakup, considering that the two reportedly split on his 26th and didn't attend any birthday celebrations together. Therefore, Kylie Jenner posting a "Happy birthday Tyga" vid — complete with cake and him blowing out the candles and all — is kind of a big "eff you" to anyone doubting their relationship status. "WE'RE VERY MUCH STILL TOGETHER, WORLD," this video basically screams.

But all of this has nothing on a paparazzi vid of Jenner deadpanning that the two are going to tie the knot someday. When asked by a paparazzo if she and Tyga are getting married, the 18-year-old responds with a simple (and possibly sarcastic), "Yes." Whether she responded affirmatively just to get the paps off her back or because it's something that's actually going to happen or because this is (another) way of her saying, "Yes, we're together," it doesn't exactly matter. Because guess what, that Kylie Jenner/Tyga wedding could be happening. Prepare yourselves.

That all being said, it's important to remember that Kylie Jenner is just 18 — still a teenager — and this is her first public relationship.

Aside from all of the #chaos that comes with being in the public eye and having a serious relationship in the limelight (stressors that undoubtedly impact any relationship, no matter the age), Jenner is still young, on top of her career, and has a whole lot of living left to do. It would hardly be shocking if she and Tyga called things off eventually — whether that's because things in their relationship after this maybe-breakup are still " definitely shaky," according to a People source, or just because she is a teenager and is still figuring out what she wants from life and her relationships. And though factors like Tyga's three-year-old son may be fine now — Jenner was photographed at King's birthday party this October — the reality star may not necessarily want to enter the stepmom role at the age of 18. And that's perfectly OK.

So whether or not Kylie Jenner and Tyga stick it out in the long run and end up walking down that blinged-out aisle at some point in their lives, it's pretty clear that they want to work things out for now. And what is life if we're not all living in the moment?
