Angelina Jolie Covers 'Elle' France December Issue In Menswear Look — PHOTOS
If there's one person in Hollywood who can effortlessly pull off the minimalist menswear look, it's none other than Elle France's December cover star, Angelina Jolie. The actress, producer, and director (among other things) looks stunning on the magazine cover in a menswear-inspired blazer, white blouse, trousers, and a big smile. Ending 2015 with a bang, this magazine cover establishes Jolie as the queen of rocking seriously cool androgynous outfits.
The star has also been working on a big project as well. Jolie's latest film, By The Sea credits her as a writer, producer, director, and star (no big deal). She worked on the film with her husband, Brad Pitt. On top of that, she's a mother, philanthropist, and super brave woman. Thiis past year was a big one for Jolie, and covering Elle France is the perfect way to sign off on 2015 in style.
From the big grin on her face to her glowing skin, it's clear that Jolie feels pretty similarly. The cover is quite simple and subdued, with Jolie appearing in front of a basic gray background. The stylist took a similar approach with clothes for the shoot, as Jolie wears a velvet black menswear inspired blazer, a white and black blouse, and basic trousers. No distracting jewelry, no crazy prints of patterns — just the basics. No muss, no fuss! It's actually a really effective image, given how happy she looks.
Makeup doesn't seem to have played a major role in this look. Jolie's skin looks flawless, as always. She's wearing winged eyeliner with some brown shadow, but for the most part the look is basic and paired down. Let's be real, it doesn't take much for Jolie to look absolutely gorgeous.
Jolie has always been great at making minimal, menswear inspired pieces look impeccable. This may be one of my favorite Jolie looks to date.
Let's look back at seven of her most recent menswear ensembles. Frankly, no one can do Angelina like Angelina can!
1. Black Suit
No one pulls off a basic black suit with a red lip quite like Angie.
2. Turtle Neck
But really, have you ever seen someone pull off a turtleneck so effortlessly? Didn't think so.
3. Strapless Black Gown
While this isn't exactly menswear, it's certainly minimalist. You really can't go wrong with a simple black strapless gown.
But like, how does she do it?
5. Gray & White
I've never seen a more incredible pair of trousers with a white blouse.
She's good at white, too!
7. Matching With Bae
Because how else would you do it?
