Will Jason Crouse Return To 'The Good Wife'? Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Character Made A Big Move

The unthinkable happened on the winter finale of The Good Wife : Jason Crouse left Alicia, and moved across the country. Yep, you read that right. The gruff private investigator flirting with Alicia for the better part of nine episodes walked away from Alicia and The Good Wife in "KSR." After Ruth Eastman became convinced that Alicia and Jason were having an affair in last week's episode, she decided to take matters into her own hands. So, she went around Eli and asked Peter's newest supporter and Eli's new girlfriend, Courtney Paige, to hire Jason to do business for her in California. In the few episodes we've seen, Courtney has established herself as against any kind of impropriety in a marriage, so it wasn't surprising when she called Jason and offered him $50,000 for two months' work. Jason was on a plane to California before the hour was up, but will he return when those two months pass? Or, is Jason gone for good on The Good Wife ?

It's sad to think of Jason leaving The Good Wife so soon, especially because of his chemistry with Alicia. And, let's face it, some fans (myself included) wanted them to have some sexy times before this happened. Granted, Jason still could come back when The Good Wife returns in the new year. After all, Jason made it clear that he would only be gone for two months, and he promised Alicia that he would call her when he was back in town.

Now, The Good Wife has been known to introduce characters, abandon them, and then have them miraculously return when you least expect it. It's part of the show's charm. So, there's a good chance Jason will be back, especially given how much the fans love him. However, there is also the question of whether or not actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is even contracted for more episodes. While reports stated Morgan was on board for The Good Wife as a series regular, the actor was recently cast in a major role on The Walking Dead , suggesting his time on The Good Wife is limited, at best.

Still, it seems only reasonable that he would reappear in the second half of the season of The Good Wife. So much of his character is still a mystery, including why he was investigating Alicia. I hope Jason returns when Season 7 comes back, and I know I'm not the only one.
