Based on a recent Snapchat video, Kylie Jenner is a big fan of lemonade. But nope, I'm not talking about Beyoncé's incredible album. (Although according to previous lip-syncing Snaps, Jenner is a fan of that too.) Instead, she enjoys the actual beverage made with water, sugar, and lemons. On Saturday, the reality star stopped at a lemonade stand with her friend Stassie and gave the kid $100, in exchange for two cups. If I had to guess, he was not charging that much for the drink, but of course, she was being generous. It was a sweet moment caught on Snapchat and shows off the star's compassionate side. My question: Why can't this be the Jenner everyone talks about?
Instead of getting so caught up in sex tape rumors or relationship drama, why can't everybody focus on the facts? Those are rumors, whereas here's solid footage of her being a nice person. Granted, people will argue that she may have filmed it just to seem like a good person, but this isn't the first time she's given back. Remember when she spent her birthday at Children's Hospital Los Angeles? She's also previously auctioned off her clothing and donated the proceeds to the same hospital. I don't think she shows off these good deeds to boost her own image, but instead, to inspire her nearly 80 million followers (almost 63 million on Instagram and over 16 million on Twitter) to be more giving people too. She really does have a widespread influennce.
In the past, the 18-year-old has made a point to say in interviews and on Snapchat that fans don't know "the real Kylie." Maybe this is exactly what she means. There's so much more to her than a girl that loves posting selfies or trying out new lipsticks. Not that there's anything wrong with those activities, but clearly, there are other things she does, beyond just what people see on screen. She takes the time to stop and talk with strangers, or donate money to their businesses. Even if it is just a lemonade stand, chances are it was a big deal to that little boy.
Not only are the lemonade videos great because they highlight the star's generosity, but she also has a sense of humor about it. She jokes at the end that it's definitely just Crystal Light in the cup, but she still is a good sport and drinks it. Even if it's not the fanciest or best lemonade around, I would have to guess that it made the kid's day — and what's better than that?
Props to Jenner for setting a good example and reminding fans there's more to her than meets the eye. She's not a superficial person, just because she snaps photos of herself or cares about her appearance. She's capable of being well-rounded and giving, too.
