Kylie Jenner Doesn't Want To Be Famous Forever

by Jamie Primeau

While her brother-in-law Kanye West has a song called "Famous," Kylie Jenner knows all about life in the spotlight. Considering she began starring on Keeping Up With The Kardashians at age 10, she grew up in the public eye — and she's well aware of this fact. In the latest issue of Allure, Jenner opens up about fame and how it's impacted her life. Her comments are surprisingly insightful and may help you gain a better understanding of how she feels about the spotlight. She told the mag,

"I'm a special case. I can't remember what it's like not to be famous. So I'm able to appreciate what true happiness is all about. A new car, that's not real happiness. That lasts a month. That's short-term happiness."

If true happiness isn't mansions or cars, how does she define it? She actually gave a great answer: "Being with your friends." She values people over material objects, which is also seen in the shoutout she gave her family. She admitted she doesn't know what she'd without them. Counting all of her half-siblings, Jenner is the youngest of 10 children, so she grew up constantly surrounded by relatives. While they definitely get into their share of fights, it sounds like their bond is unbreakable.

Although fame is all she's ever known, that doesn't mean it'll always define her. The 18-year-old talked about how her life may change as she ages: "I know I don't want to be famous forever. There's gonna be a time where I feel comfortable, I'm at a good place in my life, and I just stop." This shows a sense of reflection and depth that people may not immediately associate with the teen. Still, the future is awhile away. For now, she's focused on building her cosmetics line and brand as a whole — and there's nothing wrong with that. If she's in the spotlight, she might as well enjoy it.

Later in life, Jenner says she wants to do "normal things," like starting a family, Allure reported. She also added, "I don't necessarily have to date someone who's famous." Granted, I'm guessing this interview took place prior to Jenner and Tyga's reunion, since the intro references their "recent breakup." Still, it shows an openness for going wherever life takes her. She's not the fame-obsessed or vapid person that people sometimes make her out to be.

I don't know about you, but these latest comments make me see Jenner differently. If anything, she's wise beyond her years — and beyond the spotlight.
