So, Is Calvin Harris Going Solo To The VMAs?

When it comes to Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris' relationship, one thing will forever leave me puzzled. Despite the fact that they were together for a year, Tayvin never attended an award show together. Sure, they sat together sometimes, but they never did the whole red carpet thing as a couple. Since they broke up in June, there's no chance of that happening now. But with the MTV Video Music Awards approaching, I can't help but wonder: Will Harris bring a date to the VMAs? Unlike his ex, he's nominated for three awards at the big show, including Best Male Video for "This Is What You Came For" with Rihanna. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up with a female friend. Update: Calvin Harris did not attend the VMAs.

Earlier: Ever since Harris and Swift split, the DJ's behavior has been pretty petty, to say the least. (There's even a chart to prove it.) But here's a quick recap: He reignited Swift's beef with Katy Perry, reportedly wrote an Instagram comment about being "free" from his ex, and posed for pics with Kim Kardashian. I'm not saying him bringing a date would be intentionally to spite Swift, but I'm also not saying that wouldn't be the case.

So, who will he bring if he does bring a date? Harris reportedly has been seeing Tinashe. He and the R&B singer have been spotted on a few dates and sources told Us Weekly in July, "Calvin is so into her and she thinks he’s cute. It’s very, very early and we’ll see where it goes, but they are both into each other." As for where things will go, perhaps to the VMAs? That's the next logical step.

Another possibility is that he'd bring Rihanna with him — not necessarily as a date, but a way to celebrate their song being nominated. After all, they're also nominated for "Best Collaboration." Even if they don't walk the red carpet together, they'd likely be seated near each other. Unless, of course, she decides to attend with Drake (in which case, I totally support that idea).

Fans will just have to wait and see if Harris shows up solo, but my bet is that he'll have a date. Even if he brings his mom or something, it'd be nice to have someone by his side on the big night. And you know he would love the opportunity to show he's still not hung up on Swift.
