Is She Dabbling in the Bieber-Gomez Relationship?

There's nothing more passive aggressive than using social media to make a subtle jab at someone, but it's refreshing to see that even celebrities aren't above this specific brand of pettiness. While certain celebrities aren't so shy about their subtweeting or passive aggressive Instagram postings, contrary to what some people think, I'm not so sure that model Cara Delevingne is guilty of sniping at someone via social media. According to Hollywood Life, Delevingne sent a message to Justin Bieber via Instagram in order to stand up for her pal Selena Gomez. Delevingne posted this quote on her Instagram account on Sunday night, just days after celebrating Gomez's birthday: "Stop swimming across oceans for people who won't jump a puddle for you." Could this quote be a jab at Bieber? I'm not so sure.

There's really no one who could better use the advice Delevingne's quote detailed more than Gomez, who put up with Bieber's bullshit for the majority of their relationship and their recent foray into friendship. However, to jump to the conclusion that Delevingne was trying to diss the Biebs with this inspirational quote seems like a bit of a stretch. Sure, Delevingne may have recently hung out with Gomez, but that doesn't mean she is spending all of her free time thinking of ways she can enlighten Gomez or make Bieber feel bad for sucking at interpersonal relationships. I mean, come on, Delevingne does have a job to do. Just because my job often revolves around Gomez and Bieber's relationship doesn't mean that hers does.

There is a chance that Cara was trying to swipe at someone via Instagram, but that doesn't mean it has to be the Biebs. Delevingne's had her own relationship drama recently, and was allegedly dating Michelle Rodriguez before Rodriguez moved on to kissing Zac Efron. If we're going to speculate about Delevingne's Instagram post, maybe it should be about her own relationships.

If there's any subtext to this quote, I have a feeling that it's not about Gomez and Bieber's relationship. I know it's hard to accept, but not everyone who is tangentially associated with Gomez is as obsessed with Bieber as she once was. Delevingne might not have Bieber fever after all. And she should be grateful for that clean bill of health.
