Kermit the Frog Does the Ice Bucket Challenge Because Even Muppets Want to Support a Good Cause
We know: the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a worthy cause and has raised a lot of awareness (and money) for the disease, but by now, you're probably getting a little tired of it. Seemingly everyone has done it: the cast of Pitch Perfect 2 , adorable celebrity couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt did it, Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale had a mini-High School Musical reunion to do it, Zoe Saldana and husband Marc Prego used the challenge to confirm their pregnancy, Lady Gaga did it, Chris Pratt got "iced in more ways than one, Fifty Shades of Grey hunk Jamie Dornan enlisted fellow Les Miserables hunk Eddie Redmayne to do it...even Vogue Editor-in-Chief, ice queen Anna Wintour got her hair wet to do it. And of course, if you're on Facebook, you've seen it in your newsfeed nearly every day.
But what if I told you that WWE wrestler Vince McMahon did it...and challenged Kermit the Frog in return? The result would be too adorable to ignore.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, today we have that result. And indeed, it can be technically qualified as "too adorable." Kermit, being a frog, acknowledges that in doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, he risks his body temperature plummeting to fatal levels. Being a frog, he also acknowledges that he is the first to do the challenge entirely nude. But, despite the nudeness and possibility of death, Kermit goes bravely forward (spoiler alert: he's okay).
Of course, it would've been great to see Kermit challenge his fellow Muppets. Gonzo cannonballing into a bucket of ice water? Beaker pouring a beaker of ice water over his head? And you know that Miss Piggy would not take well to getting ice water in her hair. But instead, he did the second best thing and challenged his Muppets Most Wanted co-stars: Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and none other but our beloved Lady of Comedy Tina Fey. So, will Tina Fey respond to Kermit's challenge? Only time can tell, but one thing is for sure: if she does, it will be epic.
