Selena Gomez & Chrissy Teigen’s Dance-Off Should Start the Next Viral Video Trend — VIDEO
The amount of celebrities posting video challenges lately has increased a ton, thanks to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It's so great seeing celebs raise awareness — and money — for such an important cause. They've even created their own versions of it, especially 50 Cent, who challenged Floyd Mayweather to read the first chapter of Harry Potter instead of dumping water on himself (no, I don't understand either). Well, there's a new video challenge that has viral potential: dance-offs. Yup, on Instagram Selena Gomez challenged Chrissy Teigen to a dance-off, and I think it's a brilliant idea.
This all started when Teigen posted a video of herself dancing on set at a photo shoot. The model was grooving in her own way, somewhat resembling Gollum from Lord of the Rings combined with Lorde's eclectic dance moves. (OK, and maybe just a hint of Sia's "Chandelier" video since that's what she's performing to, after all.) But I totally mean that in the chicest way possible, because she's Chrissy Teigen and can do no wrong. There's a reason John Legend calls them her "perfect imperfections," you guys.
In case you don't remember, Chrissy Teigen and Selena Gomez met at the Met Ball back in May. At the time, Gomez posted a FOMO-inducing Instagram (below) of herself with Teigen and Legend, saying, "They found me to tell me y'all told them I was a fan!!" Yup, all those Selanators helped made this perfect friendship a thing, and I'm just as grateful as Gomez.
Now, without further ado, let's watch those dance clips. Here's Teigen's original video:

Then Teigen accepting the challenge:
Just like you, I'll be waiting to see what happens next! They could add a charitable aspect (just like the Ice Bucket Challenge) and it'd be another huge hit. As Miley Cyrus proved at the VMAs, celebrities can use their power for spreading good.
Oh, and I can only imagine Taylor Swift, the queen of awkward-girl dancing, is dying to get in on this.
