Gale Would Approve Of Liam Hemsworth's New Role

by Kenya Foy

Man, who else is having a difficult time keeping up with all of today's cinematic developments? Casting frenzy first set in on Tuesday with the announcement of Chris Pratt's possible Indiana Jones role. Then things went from crazy to downright insane (and AMAZING) with the news of the official all-female Ghostbusters cast including major players like Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Just when I thought I could catch a breath from all that news, another huge report arrived from Hollywood — and it's big: Reportedly, there's a good chance we may see Liam Hemsworth star in the Independence Day sequel.

The Wrap broke the news that the lead role of ID Forever might go to Hemsworth. Unfortunately, Will Smith won't be present for the follow-up to the 1996 classic, but, if confirmed, the 25-year-old Hunger Games star will still be in good company amongst original cast members Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, who have already signed on for the Roland Emmerich-directed film. While the original film centered around an attack on mankind at the hands of some pretty scary aliens, Hemsworth's onscreen plight will be slightly different. According to Vulture, ID Forever will reportedly take place in an alternate universe with technologically evolved humans.

As for now, let's all keep our eyes peeled for an official confirmation. Meanwhile, who's willing to bet that Hemsworth can do this role justice? Gale would totally approve.
