Who Knew Kanye Had A Tumblr?

by Kenya Foy

In case anyone wants to know more about Kanye West beyond the obvious facts that he's prone to impromptu rants, is passionate about his art (whether it be music or fashion), absolutely adores and worships his wife Kim Kardashian, and he thinks Beck's Album of the Year Grammy belongs to Beyoncé, then look no further: Kanye West's latest interview with Style.com reveals a lot of previously unknown facts about the rapper/artist, and, turns out, there's actually a lot we don't know about the guy.

The interview is quite extensive, mostly centering on fashion and how West cultivated his recently released collection — but like with any Kanye West interview, his candid and forthcoming nature lends itself to some pretty interesting revelations from the "Bound 2" rapper. Yeezy goes into great detail about who and what inspired his fashion collection, what he thinks of the critics, and surprisingly admits to being “human,” “not always right” and “not always on time.”

While that’s refreshing and honest, I have to admit that its shocking to hear him display some authentic humility — more of this please, Yeezy!

Anyway, I'm not sure if it'll leave anyone striving to be more like Kanye, but here are 7 things the interview reveals about West:

He actually works well with others

I know, I know — this goes against all that we know about Kanye and his proclivity to calling folks out whenever he's given (or whenever he chooses to take) the chance. But, turns out, Kanye might actually be a team player after all: Whilst speaking about if Adidas gave him some guidelines for his Kanye West x Adidas collection, he said: "No, they put some boundaries, but solutions come from boundaries. I stepped in, we had to learn [to work with] each other." Go figure.

He's super considerate of his friends

"I just want to propose a solution to problems that me and my wife and my friends face."

OK, fine — Yeezy wasn't talking about lending his friends a cup of sugar or being a shoulder to cry on, but the fact that he thinks about his friends' fashion conundrums definitely qualifies as going the extra mile for his buds.

He's extremely charitable.

"When professor Louise Wilson was alive, I’d give 100, 200 free tickets to Saint Martins students in London."

Witnessing one of West's impassioned rants in person for free? Deal.

He calls Kris Jenner "mom." Seriously.

"I was in my mom [Kris Jenner]’s house,..." West says when speaking about his mother-in-law.

He hates the word chic.

"And I looked to the left of me and the lady was just as — and I hate this word — but just as chic …"

Maybe the synonyms fashionable or stylish are more Yeezy-friendly.

He lives for Nori and Kim.

When asked about developing a line that reflects his personal style, West said, "And it was far less defined who I was, and I didn’t know who I was until I had a daughter. And then I realized that the purpose of life was to protect her and my wife at all costs. And that is who I am."

He might have a Tumblr.

When asked to name his fashion influences, West mentioned having "a heartfelt discussion with my Tumblr."

Um, but does Yeezy really have a Tumblr? Maybe it's intentionally kept under wraps like Kristen Stewart's Instagram page. First one to find Kanye's page gets a prize, though!
