Nat Wolff Could Be The Next 'Spider-Man'

by Alyse Whitney

Since Spider-Man joined the Marvel universe, we've said goodbye to Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. It is tough to think of yet another actor wearing the Spidey Suit, but based on the list of actors who could play Spider-Man, it could be very exciting. Unfortunately, Donald Glover won't be Spider-Man based on a new list from The Wrap, but Paper Towns' Nat Wolff is one of the frontrunners, as well as some other up-and-coming young actors. The site reports that Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet, and Liam James are some of the other names being tossed around, and Sony may make test offers to them as early as next week.

If all goes as planned, Spider-Man's first appearance will be in Captain America: Civil War, and the actor will need to be on set around June. Even though you may not recognize all of the names on this short list — aside from Wolff, whose career has been on the rise — they all share one big thing in common: age. Wolff is 20; Butterfield is 18; Chalamet is 20; Holland is 18; and James is 18. Compared to Garfield, who was 29 when The Amazing Spider-Man premiered, and Toby Maguire, who was 27 in Spider-Man, they're much closer to Peter's real age. Then again, Spider-Man could be Miles Morales, too, but considering all of the frontrunners are white actors, that may not be the case. Check out all of the potential Spideys below, as well as where you may have seen them before.
