Chanel Couture Endorses The Bob For Fall

by Dana Reszutek

One word should probably come to your mind when you think Paris Couture Week, and that's "Chanel." Chanel showed its Fall 2015 couture collection Tuesday, and like every other time the brand has a runway show, it was far from boring. And though the collection itself was strong (as usual), the models's hairstyles stood out the most. They sported '20s-inspired short bobbed hair, proving that shorter definitely can be better when it comes to your locks.

Karl Lagerfeld seems to go for the loud, statement-making themes each time his collections hit the runway, from a fashion supermarket to a feminist protest, and this time was no exception. The collection, entitled Circle Privé — which can be translated to "secret" or "private circle" (thanks college) — was held at the Grand Palais and the room decorated like a casino, complete with gambling tables, where celebrity guests, from Kristen Stewart to Julianne Moore, played cards while watching the models hit the runway.

The collection itself combined mixed textiles with silhouettes that seemed to be inspired by every decade, yet each look was just as signature Chanel as the last. But the bobbed wigs that each model sported, paired with bold brows and a red lip, really tied the outfits together. The bobs, though fake, definitely gave off a similar vibe to the cropped styles that many are opting for this summer.

Take a look at Lagerfeld's latest collection for the storied house. It definitely doesn't disappoint.

This tweed skirt and matching, strong-shouldered blazer screams classic Chanel. And even though this is the brand's couture show, it's definitely a wearable option that can inspire your upcoming fall wardrobe.

Jump to a more daring look — a lavender slip with ruffled drapes and sheer hemline that seems to be perfect for a special occasion or just a really fancy bed time routine (I personally vote for the latter).

I don't know about you, but this dress gives me Betty Draper flashbacks. It's a '50s, high-neck silhouette with a modern, metallic fabric choice.

Red dress, flower appliqué... just simply gorgeous.

I'm personally in love with this loose jacket from this look. Imagine it paired with a little black dress or a pair of skinny jeans, and it's absolutely perfect for fall.

This dramatic, flower-inspired coat is definitely not something that's easy to replicate, but the pink and black combo will be sure to pop up in your closet this fall.

Lagerfeld's runway darling, Kendall Jenner, closed the show in an all-white pant suit, paired with a tulle train. Given the casino theme, does anyone else get some Elivs-y "let's get hitched in Vegas" vibes from this look?

Way to knock it out of the park again, Chanel.
