The comedy stylings of Mo Gilligan helped him to become an overnight social media sensation. Since then, the London-based funnyman has cemented himself as one of the brightest stars in British comedy, even landing his very own series The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan and the Netflix special, Momentum. Now, alongside co-host AJ Odudu, Gilligan will be the face of Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast return.
But, what else is there to know about the comedian? And who is Mo Gilligan dating? Here's everything we know about his love life.
If Gilligan's social media offers any indication, it appears the comedian prefers to keep details of his private life out of the public eye. However, during a 2018 interview with the Evening Standard, the funnyman did reveal that he does have a girlfriend, and is in a long-term relationship with actor Sophie Wise.
Per The Sun, the pair are yet to comment publicly on their relationship since Gilligan confirmed they were an item three years ago, and there is no reference to Wise on any of his social media pages.
According to her official portfolio, Wise is a British actor who is perhaps best known for her roles in Doctors, Hollyoaks, Holby City, and the BBC crime-drama, Rillington Place. She has also appeared in a number of stage shows, including A Street Car Named Desire, Richard III, and Spring Awakening.
As mentioned, Gilligan has been confirmed to present Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast alongside AJ Odudu. Per the Metro, the classic morning show originally aired between 1992 and 2002, and will return for a two-hour special for the first time in 19 years as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front day.
According to Channel 4’s Deputy Director of Programmes, Kelly Webb-Lamb, Black to Front day “will be fronted by Black talent and will tell the stories of Black British communities in a demonstration of Black excellence.”
Speaking of his latest gig, Gilligan said in a statement, “Like so many of us, I loved The Big Breakfast and I am so grateful to be asked to host this special event, particularly as part of such a hugely thrilling and history-making day for British television!”
The Big Breakfast airs between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 on Channel 4.
