Although it's always sad to see summer coming to a close, there's something exciting about awards season starting up again. And with MTV's 2017 VMAs quickly approaching, awards season is going to start off with a bang. The VMAs are guaranteed to be good people watching, because the number of celebs who make an appearance on the red carpet (and at the show after) is staggering. 2016's carpet included appearances by Kim and Kanye, Beyonce, the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team and of course Ariana Grande, who also performed.

So if you're a cord-cutter who doesn't have cable, how do you stream the 2017 VMAs red carpet? MTV is making it super easy for you this year. You'll be able to stream it on MTV's main VMAs page at mtv.com/vma, and you can also watch it live on Twitter. The show will take place on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. ET, but the red carpet will start streaming at 6 p.m. ET. Even if you're not home for the show or don't have a TV, you can keep up with what your favorite stars are wearing online and on social media.

Considering some of the cool changes MTV is making this year, like introducing progressive new categories, I have a feeling stars are going to show up in full force.

MTV has been hyping the awards with video promos and on social media for months, so fans are super pumped to see who will show up. Will T-Swift return to the red carpet this year? Is Harry Styles coming? How will Lorde's performance go? And best of all, what will they all be wearing?

Katy Perry is hosting this year. Will her 2017 red carpet look be as memorable as her 2014 appearance, when she and Riff Raff copied Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's iconic denim-on-denim look?

Lorde is returning to perform after her last appearance in 2014, and the star will surely bring her signature style to the carpet.

Also performing is Miley Cyrus, who will surely add some excitement to the red carpet. Tune in Sunday to see what other stars make an appearance.
