Bustle's Editors On Spicer + 'OITNB'

by Rachel Simon

Happy Tuesday, everyone! What a day it's been, with White House press secretary Sean Spicer basically rewriting history during a press conference (more on that below) and so much more. Sigh — just another weird, hard-to-believe-it's-real day in 2017.

Read on for a recap of all the news and events that had Bustle's editors talking today, Apr. 11.

Sean Spicer + The Holocaust

Another Spicer press conference gone horribly wrong. While speaking to the media on Tuesday about the chemical attack in Syria, the White House press secretary stated that Hitler didn't even use chemical weapons during World War II — apparently forgetting about gas chambers in the Holocaust. Foot, meet mouth.

Word Vomit: "Holocaust Centers" are a new name for concentration camps, according to Spicer. Mhm.

United Airlines + More Information

A day after a horrifying video of a United Airlines passenger being forcibly removed from his plane went viral, more information has come out about the incident. The United CEO reportedly sent an email out to company employees about the event, but placed most of the blame on the passenger, not the airline. Meanwhile, people are focusing far too much on the past behavior of the passenger, David Dao, despite the fact that his past actions have nothing to do with what happened on the plane or how he's seen by the public.

Quote Of The Day: "Volunteer means 'someone who does something without being forced to do it,' especially a person who joins the military or who does work for no pay." — Merriam-Webster, throwing United some shade.

Orange Is The New Black + A New Clip

Get ready, everyone, because OITNB Season 5 is almost here, and a new clip shows that these episodes are going to be intense. The first hour apparently picks up right where last season's cliffhanger left off — with Daya pointing a gun at a prison guard — so you can bet that Season 5 will be one hell of a ride.

Queen Elizabeth + What She Really Eats

Ever wonder what the Queen's diet is like? Bustle's Associate Lifestyle Editor Emma Lord took things one step further and ate like HRH for the day, complete with steak dinners and pre-lunch cocktails. As the photos below show, it was an experience, to say the least.
