It's Wednesday, this week's halfway over, and we're two weeks away from the ~official~ first day of summer. What more can you ask for? Sure, Trump and James Comey are in the news again (more on that below!), but I'm still on a high over Amal and George's twins. Take what you can get! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here's what happened today, June 7:
Trump + The FBI
Donald Trump announced his pick for FBI director Wednesday morning on — you guessed it — Twitter:
Trump's pick, Christopher Wray, worked with former FBI director James Comey during George W. Bush's presidency, when Wray was assistant attorney general. This news comes just one day before Comey, who was fired by the president last month, is set to testify before a Senate committee on his interactions with Trump and possible links between the Trump administration and Russia. So yeah, you're going to want to stay tuned for updates on this.
Tension x 10: The Trump administration is so dire that even attorney general Jeff Sessions reportedly offered to resign.
Kylie Jenner + New Merch
You've already got your Lip Kit and your Kylighters, so what's next? The Kylie Shop’s Camo Collection, of course. Going live on KylieJennerShop.com at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on June 8, this new collection is chock-full of camouflage clothing and accessories. Better set a reminder for yourself now, because these collections usually go fast!
Summer Anthem: The search for the feminist, body-positive summer jam of your dreams is officially over.
Luna Legend + Baseball
Raise your hand if your biggest achievement this week was not hitting snooze on your alarm clock. Same. Well move over, because one-year-old Luna Legend has got you beat. On Tuesday, everyone's favorite celeb family went to the Mariners game in Seattle, and Luna threw out the first pitch. This might be the cutest thing you'll see all month. Seriously, though.
Aww: Mae Whitman congratulated George Clooney on the birth of his twins with *the* sweetest throwback photo.
Babies + Demographics
According to new research from Pew Research Center, one in seven babies born today is multiracial or multicultural. This research is a reflection of the changing demographics in the United States, and mirrors upward trends in interracial marriage. That means future generations — made up of the babies born every eight (!!) seconds — will look very different than they do today, and we've got lots of work to do when it comes to equality.
Pride Month: If you showed up to the Women's March, you need to support Pride. Here's why.
Today's WTF Moment: The Trump Foundation reportedly misused $100k in charity donations that were meant to go to the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. So there's that.
What to Watch: It's Wednesday, so that means another new episode of The Handmaid's Tale is on Hulu now!
