These Harry Potter Blankets Are The Magical Home Accessory You Need To Have The Coziest Fall
Have you been trying to write out a holiday shopping list, only to find yourself unsure of what to buy for anyone — including yourself? Well then, these Harry Potter blankets and scarves are just what you need to save your holiday from lackluster gifting. They're the result of a partnership between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Pendleton Woolen Mills, "an Oregon company known for its woolen blankets," according to Cosmopolitan. The blankets are available for pre-order now from Pendleton's website, which reports that they should ship out on Nov. 25.
If you're like me, you never quite know what you should buy for the people on your holiday shopping list. Eventually, you know your friends and family will get tired of receiving coffee mugs and candles from you every year, and you always resolve to do better, only to wind up defaulting to the gifts you know everyone can appreciate.
You know what everyone loves, though? Blankets and scarves. And Harry Potter, obviously. You can never have enough of those, after all. So why not give the Potterhead on your list a fandom gift that they can treasure for years to come? Get your Galleons ready, though, because these blankets don't come cheap.
Pendleton Woolen Mills has designed reversible Harry Potter blankets for each Hogwarts house. The four gift items are emblazoned with familiar, magical symbols, such as flying keys, crossed wands, and the Deathly Hallows. The blankets each measure 64 by 72 inches, and cost $299, which is more than enough to get you free shipping at the Pendleton website, and all four blankets may be bundled together for $1,196. Also available are two crib blankets, in "Harry's Journey" and "Hogwarts Is My Home" styles, which each measure 32 by 44 inches and cost $99.50.
If blankets aren't your thing, Pendleton Woolen Mills also has Harry Potter scarves available in two different styles. Choose from the black-and-gray "Houses," which bears the Hogwarts crest and house symbols, or the blue "Messenger," featuring an owl delivering a very special letter to a British witch or wizard. Both scarves measure 12 by 76 inches, plus a half-inch fringe, and cost $79.50.
These Harry Potter blankets and scarves are just the latest in a long series of new Potter merchandise to appear this year. Last month, PBteen unveiled a line of Harry Potter home decor, complete with a personality selector to help shoppers pick out just the right items for their abodes. London's Primark store has also gotten into the Harry Potter spirit, transforming its flagship store into a one-stop shop for all things Potter-related.
