Trend Spotting
Megan Thee Stallion Made A Strong Case For Leopard On Leopard
She proved the intimidating trend can be so approachable.

Has anyone else ever felt like they’re a quiet luxury sun but a maximalist rising? In non-astrology-speak, it means you’re drawn to fun, ostentatious trends, but have doubts about pulling them off in the wild. So instead, you keep to your nondescript, understated go-tos. Even as a fashion girlie, I find some of today’s buzziest styles so intimidating, and animal print is definitely one of them.
Going all-in on a matching leopard-print look sounds scary, but Megan Thee Stallion recently exemplified how to make the loud trend much more attainable. On March 30, the “Savage” rapper gave a blueprint on how to style animal prints galore — without going overboard.
Megan’s Leopard-On-Leopard ‘Fit
When Meg isn’t rocking lingerie and a top hat as Zidler in Moulin Rouge, her Broadway debut, her hot girl ‘fit of choice is a double-dose of animal prints. She shared pics from her new True Religion campaign, in which she modeled a teeny denim vest and matching short shorts covered in the predatory feline’s spots. Since the look was already loud, she kept the rest of her look somewhat bare with simple, back strappy heels and a chain necklace and bracelet.
The Key Is Small Doses
The primary reason Meg’s fit wasn’t overpowering, despite wearing leopard co-ords, was because each piece was in smaller, bite-size pieces. Her outfit-to-skin ratio also helped.
Other celebs who’ve also mastered the double-animal-print combo include Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Lopez. In December, Bieber mixed two different patterns by playing with proportions. Since her legs were covered in a tiger print, she chose a much tinier canvas for her second jungle-inspired pattern: her nails.
Lopez, meanwhile, also utilized the skin-baring trick for her double-leopard attire, with her exposed thighs serving as a visual break between her long-sleeved long mini dress and thigh-high boots.
Try It For Yourself
Megan’s True Religion ‘fit is available for purchase, if you want to cop her exact set. Or, one easy styling hack for the leopard-on-leopard look is to wear one clothing item with an accessory. Think: a bodysuit with a bucket hat, jeans with sneakers, or a midi skirt with a skinny shoulder bag. Honestly, the possibilities are endless.
