Zendaya’s The Drama press tour is the gift that keeps on giving. To channel her bride-to-be alter ego on red carpets, the actor’s been tapping into the longstanding tradition of brides wearing something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

She already made headlines for her recent “old” and “borrowed” ensembles, rewearing her 2015 Oscars look and sporting a dress previously worn by Cate Blanchett. Now, after her Wednesday, April 1, appearance on Good Morning America, the two-time Emmy winner is making waves for a look that was so “new,” it hasn’t even hit stores yet.

Zendaya’s Fringe & Tweed

Styled by Law Roach, the Dune actor wore a look fresh off Erdem’s Fall/Winter 2026 show, which debuted at London Fashion Week last February. It included a black-and-white tweed jacket with pieces of fabric jutting out of the wrists. Though they resembled feathers at first glance — a big trend this year — they were actually repurposed extra scraps of material.

Underneath, she wore a matching high-neck tweed piece with a miniskirt made out of the same “feathers.” For a coordinated palette, the Euphoria star wore white pointed-toe pumps, another major spring trend.

A Statement Skirt

The set wasn’t just a masterclass in combining heavy textures that you wouldn’t normally consider pairing, it was also a great example of striking a balance between a boxier, more prim top and a fun, frilly, flamboyant bottom.

Fashion girlies likely already have statement pieces like Zendaya’s skirt in their closets. But if you ever worry about being overdressed, you’re probably conditioned to think busy bottoms are best paired with the simplest tops, such as a plain white tank or a fitted bodysuit. Z’s outfit, however, is proof that there’s more to styling frou-frou pieces.

Let Me See Your Peacock

This spring, take a page out of Zendaya’s playbook and actually have some fun with your fashion. Consider pairing a similarly posh tweed jacket with a frilly skirt and keep it streamlined with a neutral color palette. Or embrace the peacocking opportunity and play with bold colors, materials, and asymmetrical hemlines.
