7 Things All Meghan Edmonds Fans Understand

by Marenah Dobin

Meghan King Edmonds has been through the ringer on her first season of Real Housewives of Orange County. She has really been at the forefront of the drama this year and her sincerity has won over plenty of support from viewers. Even with just one season as a Real Housewife, there are just certain things that Meghan King Edmonds fans understand. We see her for who she truly is and love her for it. We think it's great that she's younger than the other ladies in the cast. We feel for her when we see her struggle trying to figure out step-parenting. We get that she's just trying to help when she asks questions about Brooks Ayers' cancer diagnosis. We support her when she is just being honest. Even this early in the game, the Meghan's fandom is strong and vocal.

Hopefully, anyone who is on the fence, or even against the 31-year-old as a cast member on Real Housewives of Orange County will read this list and understand what the fuss is all about. And eventually, if all goes well, even skeptical RHOC watchers will become Edmonds fans who understand everything that I'm talking about.

1. She's Not A Just A Pot Stirrer

Meghan fans are over people saying that the RHOC newbie is just looking for attention and starting controversy to get a storyline on the show. She is interesting in her own right and does not need Vicki and Brooks to get attention. She came from a place of concern for both of them when she questioned Brooks' cancer diagnosis. She wanted to make sure that Vicki wasn't being lied to or taken advantage of. Meghan was simply responding to some inconsistencies she seemed to find, not pulling a storyline out of nowhere.

2. She's Not In A Troubled Marriage

Every person is different and every relationship is different. Just because a marriage with traveling and long distance wouldn't work for you, that doesn't mean that it doesn't work for Meghan. Her husband has work and other children in St. Louis, so the couple is compromising and trying to make life work for everyone. And at the end of the day, it's unfair to judge their long distance relationship if you are not a part of it.

3. She's Not A Bad Stepmom

In the episodes we have seen, Meghan is new to her marriage and her new role as a stepmom. She is trying to find a balance between knowing when to be an authority figure and knowing when to sit on the sidelines. It's a tricky thing to navigate and she is just trying the best that she can.

4. She's Not A Gold Digger

During a vacation episode this season, Vicki strongly insinuated that Meghan was a gold digger because she left her job in medical sales when she married her husband. First off, Meghan relocated from St. Louis to Orange County, so it makes sense for her to quit her previous job since she's you know, not going to do a two and a half day commute to her old gig on the other side of the country. Second, it's not as if she is sitting at home all day. She works hard for her money as a brand ambassador and Director of Sales for Sweat Cosmetics. Plus, she's obviously getting paid to be on Real Housewives and promote products on Instagram, just like Vicki is.

5. She's Not Dumb

Meghan doesn't take herself too seriously. She is not a dumb blonde from Orange County and she cannot be fooled just because she is on the younger side of the cast. She understands that not everything in life is super serious and she has no problem making fun of herself (or her hair) when she sees fit.

6. She's Not Immature

Meghan fans are just so over "she's so young" or "she's my daughter's age" comments made by Vicki and the other ladies. Meghan's age is really the only dig the other women have thrown her way and it isn't actually a dig. Age has nothing to do with her right to be taken seriously.

7. She Is A Breath Of Fresh Air

We get it. Meghan isn't as old as the other women, she doesn't have her own kids, and she's a California newbie (like so many of these women once were, I might add). I can go on and on about the differences between Meghan and the rest of the cast, but the point is that there is nothing wrong with being different. Meghan brings something fresh and new to the original Real Housewives series and I, for one, am grateful for it.

If you give Meghan a chance, you'll see what the rest of us have seen all along and you'll join Team Meghan with no regrets.
