Where You Should Live Based On Your Zodiac Sign
For believers of the zodiac, the stars rule all. Your sign can tell you who to date, what to wear, where to work — heck, there are even places where you should live based on your zodiac sign. Part of it seems to depend on whether you're an earth, fire, air, or water sign. From there, it digs deeper into the specific personality traits of each sign of the zodiac. The city that best suits a Virgo might not be ideal for a Gemini. (In fact, with how much Gemini and Virgo clash, I don't think they'd want to be in the same city together anyway.)
Now, I love learning about astrology, but while I do think it's got some things right, I don't let it rule my life. However, I can tell you this: When I was 23 years old, I "got bored," left Michigan (born and raised), and moved to Sin City — and since I'm a Gemini, this makes perfect sense, astrologically speaking. At any given moment, there are about 154,028 different things to do here. It's impossible to get bored. I think the stars aligned when I arrived in Las Vegas; the Gemini in me has never been happier.
So maybe there is something to all of this, after all. Even if it's just for fun, your sign can point you in new directions and introduce you to cool stuff you never knew about before: book series you might like, graduate school programs you'd be great at, and even the kind of wine you should drink. Add to that this list of where you should live based on astrology, and you're good to go!
You don't like to sit still, Aries. You're daring, spontaneous, and full of energy. You need to be kept busy with exciting adventures — and Down Under is the place for you. Australia is home to the Red Centre: A 140-mile trail which makes for 14 straight days of nonstop activity. You'll walk as many as 20 miles in a day, but I know you're up for the challenge. Don't forget the endless surfing opportunities.
Taurus is ambitious but loves her independence. Prague, in the Czech Republic, might just be the perfect place for you. The cost of living there is relatively cheap, and public transportation is a breeze. You still have plenty to see though, like the Lennon Wall and the Castle District.
You knew this one was coming.
The sign of the twins means you never know what you're going to get with Gemini. Outgoing, chatty, fun-loving? Introverted, serious, thoughtful? Who knows? Variety is the key, so set up shop in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. Between the entertainment, outdoor adventures, and gorgeous views, take it from this Gemini Las Vegan: You'll never get bored.
Cancer loves to be by the water, and Barcelona, Spain happens to have been voted one of the Top 10 Beach Cities in the world by the National Geographic. Eight white, sandy beaches border the Mediterranean coastline.
Leo is ambitious and ridiculously confident, with a sunny disposition that simply radiates. The Maldives — ruled by the Leo sign — would be the perfect place to call home.
You're intelligent and practical, with a thirst for knowledge and love for a good book. Venice, Italy could very well be your home sweet home: It has awe-inspiring architecture, a rich history, and happens to be home to famous writers like Marco Polo and Giacomo Casanova.
Libras are the social butterfly of the zodiac. Head for the place that Business Insider voted the most social city in the United States.: San Francisco, California!
Don't mess with a Scorpio — they're strong, fierce, and totally passionate. Settling on the East Coast in the city that never sleeps is the perfect move for you. We <3 NYC.
Out of the 12 signs, Sagittarius is the biggest traveler. They don't like to stay in one place, so a home base in a city with lots of excitement is best. Think Amsterdam — home of the Red Light District, great film, delicious food, and plenty of history.
Capricorn is practical, ethical, and very in tune with nature. Alberta, Canada is where you need to be. Alberta is where you'll find Banff National Park — 2,500 square miles of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. (AKA pure heaven.)
Aquarius is a humanitarian at heart. Ghana is widely considered to be one of the friendliest and most accessible of the African countries; unfortunately, though, many of its communities live in poverty, and lack education and health resources. Aquarius will totally dig the volunteer opportunities, while enjoying all of the beautiful things Ghana has to offer.
