This Is You When Donald Trump Is Talking

by Megan Grant

Nothing makes my ears bleed quite like the sound of Donald Trump's voice. It's not just that his sentences sometimes make little grammatical sense (I do not believe, as he himself does, that he has "the best words"); it's also that this grown man who is vying for the position as leader of our country often sounds to my ears more like a 12 year old fighting with his little sister. Whenever he opens his mouth to speak, I sometimes think I can hear a collective sigh echoing from all over the world — and these GIFs will totally make you say "Me when Donald Trump is talking." Don't worry. I feel your pain.

This election season has gone so far past the point of politics. It's challenged the line between right and wrong. It's demonstrated that there are people in this world who would elect a man who says things like, "You wouldn't have your job if you weren't beautiful." (This is a thing Trump actually once said to a woman reporter interviewing him about the Miss America pageant. Yes, really.) What's happened to our nation when the Republican nominee frequently says racist, sexist, misogynistic things? Help me. I'm scared.

I can honestly say that regardless of my political stance, I'm open (and eager!) to hear both sides of any election. I get great pleasure out of listening to people who have opinions differing from my own. That's how we learn. But in the case of Trump, I'd rather wash my face with glass.

And so, I now present to you 10 GIFs that exquisitely describe me (/everyone) whenever Trump opens his pie hole.

Me When Trump Talks About All The "Respect" He Has For Women

In a moment that had (and still has, to be honest) many of us scratching our heads, Trump told Bill O'Reilly, "Number one, I have great respect for women. I was the one that really broke the glass ceiling on behalf of women, more than anybody in the construction industry." Uh... thanks?

Me When Trump Says Breastfeeding Is Disgusting

During a 2011 deposition, Trump was being questioned by lawyer Elizabeth Beck. She requested a break so that she could pump breast milk. In response, Trump said, "You're disgusting," and walked out. This comment was not disputed by either side, according to the New York Times.

Me When Trump Calls Someone Fat

It's happened more than once that Trump has referred to women as "pigs" and "fat slobs." Guess which fat slob has had enough of this? Me.

Me When Trump Talks About How Rich He Is

No, really. Trump told Ashleigh Banfield of ABC News, "The beauty of me is that I’m very rich." I wonder which one of his failed business ventures made him so wealthy.

Me When Trump Talks About His Privates

In 2011, Trump told Page Six,"My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body." Does anyone have something I can throw up in?

Me When Trump Reminds Us How High His IQ Is

On May 8, 2013, Trump tweeted to his many admirers, "My IQ is one of the highest — and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure; it’s not your fault." OK, well, at least it's not our fault that we're this stupid. Or... something.

Me When Trump Complains About A Lack Of Fairness In The Election

Trump told Ohio voters, "I'm afraid the election is going to be rigged, I have to be honest." It's not rigged, Donald. Here is an explanation on why, and from a Republican election lawyer, no less. The truth is that many of us just don't like you.

Me When Trump Insults A Prisoner Of War

At the Iowa Family Leadership Summit, Trump said of John McCain — a POW during the Vietnam War for nearly six years — "He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured." Slap me with a brick. It'd hurt less.

Me When Trump Disputes Science

On Nov. 6, 2012, Trump tweeted, "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." For Pete's sake, someone get Bill Nye on the phone. Where's Leonardo DiCaprio? SOMEBODY HELP.

Me When Trump Says Pregnancy Is An "Inconvenience"

In a 2004 interview with Dateline, Trump said, "[Pregnancy is] a wonderful thing for the woman, it's a wonderful thing for the husband, it's certainly an inconvenience for a business." Aw. I'm so glad we could share this special moment together.
