One of the year's most popular Halloween costumes was Katniss Everdeen, and adding to the list of people dressing up like her was a former Bachelorette. Andi Dorfman and fiancé Josh Murray went as Katniss and Gale for Halloween. (I hope someone told them that [Mockingjay spoiler] Gale and Katniss don't actually end up together.) But dressing up as those two YA characters actually makes perfect sense for the reality TV stars.
Throughout her season Andi proved that she was independent and not afraid to speak her mind — much like Katniss. Josh, meanwhile, revealed himself to be quite protective, (maybe too much so) just like Gale. During their fantasy suite date, Josh was adamant that he could "protect Andi from everything" which is basically how Gale feels about Katniss for much of the book series.
But if Andi and Josh are Katniss and Gale, who from the Bachelorette would be Peeta? I'm going to suggest that current Bachelor Chris Soules is Peeta since they have a lot in common. Namely that both of them were super into Andi (Katniss) but also understanding that she didn't feel the same way. When Andi sent Chris home, he ended up comforting her. If that isn't a Peeta move, I don't know what is.
The only way they differ from the book characters is that I do actually think Josh and Andi work well together, and I have no desire to see her end up with Chris. This real-world Peeta needs to find his own soulmate and hopefully he will come January 5 when the new Bachelor season premieres.
For now, just enjoy Andi and Josh in all their Katniss and Gale glory. (And the return of Andi Dorfman's grumpy face!)
