These ‘Bachelor’ Nation Stars Are Rallying Behind Mexico After The Devastating Earthquakes

Paul Hebert/ABC

As the recovery efforts continue, Bachelor Nation is sending support to Mexico after two devastating earthquakes struck the country this month. According to The New York Times, the first — the strongest earthquake to hit Mexico in a century — touched down Sept. 8 and killed at least 90 people. The second — a 7.1 magnitude temblor that arrived on Tuesday, less than two weeks later — has killed more than 200 people, with the total expected to continue climbing. Both have destroyed thousands of homes and left numerous buildings collapsed, including at least 44 in Mexico City alone. Other affected areas include Puebla, Morelos, and Tlaxcala.

For Bachelor Nation, Mexico marks a special place: Every summer, several Bachelor/ette alums head to the Playa Escondida Resort in Sayulita — a fishing village near Puerto Vallarta — for a second shot at love. It's largely considered the franchise's more casual, hook up-focused spinoff, as opposed to its marriage-centric sister shows, but it's nonetheless become the meeting place for many couples. Jade Roper and and Tanner Tolbert, who began dating during Season 2, were married in January 2016 and welcomed their first child last month; Evan Bass and Carly Waddell, who started a relationship in Season 3, got married in June and are expecting their first child together; and Taylor Nolan and Derek Peth, who appeared on Season 4, got engaged in August.

Needless to say, Mexico is a place near and dear to the heart of many Bachelor Nation cast members. And they're drawing attention to how their fans can help.

1. Wells Adams Encouraged Fans To Donate

"Topos are the people rolling up their sleeves and helping those in need in Mexico. They are a good place to start if you want to help," tweeted Wells Adams, who appeared on JoJo Fletcher's Bachelorette season and BiP Seasons 3 and 4 (though purely as the bartender for the latter).

2. The Bachelor In Paradise Team Called For Prayers

"We are lucky enough to spend our Bachelor in Paradise summers in Mexico. Our hearts go out to our friends during this time. #PrayForMexico," read the show's official Twitter post.

3. Amanda Stanton Followed Suit

"We are lucky enough to spend our Bachelor in Paradise summers in Mexico! Our hearts go out to our friends during this time," wrote Amanda Stanton, who competed on Ben Higgins' Bachelor season before joining BiP for Seasons 3 and 4.

4. Danielle Lombard Kept Her Message Short But Sweet

"Thought and prayers for Mexico," tweeted Danielle Lombard, who fans will recognize from Nick Viall's Bachelor season and BiP Season 4.

5. Jasmine Goode Took To Instagram

Jasmine Goode, also from Nick's Bachelor season and BiP Season 4, shared a similar sentiment on Instagram. "We are lucky enough to spend our Bachelor In Paradise summers in Mexico. Our hearts go out to our friends during this time. #PrayForMexico," she captioned a photo from the beach.

6. And Raven Gates Asked Everyone To Do Their Part

Raven Gates, who started dating Adam Gottschalk during BiP Season 4, encouraged everyone to step in however possible. "We're SO lucky to have spent our summer in Mexico! Laughing every day & all night with all of these people that I love. Thinking, praying, and sending a donation to Mexico during this time. Let's do our part for all of the areas in our nation and outside of our nation that need our help! #bachelorinparadise wouldn't be the same without #Mexico," she captioned a photo of the most recent BiP cast in the pool.

7. Carly Waddell Reminisced About Special Memories In Mexico

The newlywed shared a wedding photo and heartfelt caption, expressing how her and Evan Bass' "hearts go out to our friends during this time." She also threw in the hashtag #PrayForMexico.

8. Danielle Maltby Reminded People "Anything Helps"

Danielle M. shared this beautiful sunset shot, along with a thoughtful caption urging her followers to give back. She wrote, "I encourage all of my followers to make what ever kind of contribution you can. Check out your local Red Cross centers and see if you are eligible to make a blood donation, or consider a monetary donation. Anything helps. I already made mine. #strongertogether #prayersformexico #helpeachother."

9. Kristina Schulman Expressed Similar Sentiments

The Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 alum was another castmate who reflected on just how lucky the group was to spend the summer in Mexico. She wrote, "We were lucky enough to spend our Bachelor in Paradise summer in Mexico. Our hearts go out to our friends during this time."

10. And Alexis Waters Did The Same

Her message was similar to Schulman's, but still seemed heartfelt. And in these sorts of upsetting situations, sometimes there's only so much you can say. It's also possible that a lot of the cast members used similar wording as a way to show solidarity.

11. Nick Viall Urged People To Help Other Natural Disasters, Too

Viall, perhaps Bachelor Nation's most frequent star, directed fans to support the Red Cross' hurricane relief efforts with a Bachelor event.

Bachelor Nation may not be in Mexico to help directly, but they're doing their best to send their support from afar.
