Here’s What Deena Thinks About Ronnie & The 'Jersey Shore' Reunion

Last week, the chicken parm fist pump heard 'round the world hit the internet, inspiring Jersey Shore fans far and wide to celebrate Sunday night dinner on a Thursday morning. Noticeably absent from the Burger King Chicken Parmesan Sandwich spot, however, was a certain someone who was on every season of Jersey Shore: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. What could this mean for the reported reunion special that may come out later this year? Would Ron-Ron come back to Jersey Shore for that? Well, when Us Weekly asked Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese about Ortiz-Magro and the reunion, she all but turned into the shrugging emoticon.

The overall takeaway: Cortese assumes Ron-Ron would be down to do the reunion. But she doesn’t know. Because she doesn’t talk to him. Apparently, most of the cast doesn’t really talk to him. Oh. Well, that's kind of a bummer.

Cortese told Us Weekly,

“I honestly don't know if anyone has spoken to him about it. Right now we're in a group chat with me, Pauly [DelVecchio], Vinny [Guadagnino], Mike [Sorrentino], Nicole [Polizzi], Jenni [Farley] and Sam [Giancola]. Ronnie's actually not in it right now, in the group chat, but we're all talking about it and we're all trying to figure out ways to make it happen.”

Not only is there a Jersey Shore alumni group text, but Ortiz-Magro apparently isn’t in the Jersey Shore alumni group text “right now." Huh. What happened there? Was he ousted from the group chat? Was he ever in the group chat? And if Ortiz-Magro is indeed part of the reported Jersey Shore reunion special, will the group chat thing be A Thing? It sure seems like something that'd be the elephant-shaped blue text bubble in the room.

Cortese continued,

“I'm sure he'd be willing to sign on … We just all haven't spoken to him. I think Vinny's the only one that really talks to him.”

She also said that if Ortiz-Magro was there, it probably wouldn't bother ex-girlfriend Giancola. Oh, and she also claimed she cut off communication with Ortiz-Magro because he didn't contact her when her father passed away in 2016. Eesh.

To think, just a year and some months ago, they were all palling around together at JWoww's nuptials. While we're on the subject of Jersey Shore relationships changing, here's something Ortiz-Magro told People in March of this year:

“I still talk to everybody from the show. It’s easier for all of them to get together because they’re on the East Coast, and I’m out here living in L.A. now. So I see Pauly a lot more than I see anybody because he’s right there in Vegas. I just go see him DJ, do his thing, Vegas pool parties. You know, the single thing!”

Based on what Cortese told Us Weekly, it seems like the cast dynamic has since rerouted.

By all accounts, it sounds as though Ron Ron would definitely be down to get back together with his Jersey Shore colleagues for another round of GTL-ing. After the BK video went live last week, Ortiz-Magro’s rep told TooFab that the Famously Single star wasn’t part of the advert because it “was shot on [the] East Coast, but he is in a holding position right now because he's filming on the West Coast.” Per TooFab, Ortiz-Magro’s rep added, “If there was an opportunity for a reunion he would be excited and would love to be with his fellow castmates."

So, don't lose hope, fellow Jersey Shore fanatics. Yes, he missed out on the BK chicken parm. And no, he isn't part of the Jersey Shore group text. But Ortiz-Magro could very well be part of a reunion.

Some questions before we go: Did they assign a name to the group chat? If so, what is it? Do they constantly send each other Jersey Shore GIFs and memes? Who uses emoji the most? How often does someone send a message with the iPhone’s laser effect?

And most importantly, is the laser effect not iMessage's version of going to Karma?
