This Popular Lush Product Was Inspired By Princess Diana & The Reason Why Will Give You All The Feels

by Alexa Tucker

Even more than 20 years after her untimely death, there's no denying that Princess Diana's influence can still be found in pop culture, celebrity activism, and even on Kate Middleton's ring finger. The most unexpected place her impact remains, though, is in Lush's product line. Turns out, Lush's Gorgeous moisturizer was inspired by the people's princess, so it's no wonder it's such a cult favorite.

The moisturizer was created by Lush cofounder Mark Constantine after he met with Diana in the Lush Lab. And, unsurprisingly, Diana looked as hands-on as you'd expect her to be, judging by photos of her and Constantine in the lab experimenting with ingredients like strawberries and bananas. Ultimately, Constantine created the moisturizer to reflect Diana's love of sweet-smelling blossoms, according to Lush.

The scent isn't the only thing that sets Lush's Gorgeous moisturizer apart, though. It's made with incredibly high-quality ingredients, too (and with Diana as the muse, that's just as it should be). The moisturizer gets its power from ingredients like orange blossom honey, extra virgin olive oil, wheatgerm oil, primrose oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and more. It melts into skin to create a soft, matte finish that's decidedly, well, gorgeous. (Just like Diana herself.)

Of course, a high-end ingredient list also translates to a high-end price tag, unfortunately. A 1.5-ounce pot costs $87.95, so it's definitely a splurge. But, hey, if it gets you smooth, glowing skin like Diana's is here, can you really put a price tag on that?

Who are we kidding — Diana's skin was always this luminous.

Probably thanks to her skin care routine (along with very blessed genes). "Diana was very aware of her beauty regime, cleansing, toning and moisturizing twice a day," celebrity makeup artist Mary Greenwell told British publication Stylist. (She was Diana's makeup artist, and she's also worked with stars like Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Kate Moss, and more.)

Want to moisturize like Diana? Gorgeous moisturizer, right this way.

Lush Gorgeous Facial Moisturizer

To justify the cost, remember that you can bring in five clean, full-size product pots back to Lush and you'll get one fresh mask for free. (OK, maybe that doesn't quite justify it, but recycling your empties still a good thing to do for the environment, especially when Lush makes it super simple.)

Of course, if you can't readily spend nearly $100 on moisturizer, Lush has some other great options at lower price points as well. Here are a few stand-outs.
