8 Best Sex Positions To Ring In The New Year

I can't think of any better way to ring in 2016 than with some awesome New Year's Eve sex. There's so much pressure on it being an amazing night— and maybe having the best night ever is unrealistic but there's no reason you can't have some of the best sex of your life. And how do you have the best sex for ringing in the New Year? Well, it's all about being a little wild.

New Year's Eve sex should be fun. After cuddly fall sex, weighed down with food Christmas sex, New Year's Eve is the time to go a bit mental and try something a little more adventurous. There are some more tame options as well, of course, which you might want to try (especially if you are at your significant other's parents house and they're having a party and people are getting engaged and you are trying to do it on his carpeted floor as quiet as possible so you don't ruin the best moment in someone's lives but you do anyway because you're no good at being quiet... or something).

But of the most part it's a wild party night and you should be having some crazy, out-there sex. Try something new. Lights on, full view, weird positions— enter in 2016 all guns blazing.

So here are the eight best sex positions to ring in the New Year, because it's all about the view and feeling sexy as hell. Keep in mind, these sex positions work for two women as well.

1. Spooning

How To Do It: This is definitely a slow and steady position. You've done it cuddling, but to make it sexy you're going to have to help by guiding your partner inside of you, moving your top leg to accommodate and maybe adjusting a few times to get it right. But once you've got it, you can both just relax.

Why It's Great: Remember what I said bout my boyfriend's parents' house? A lot of times you may end up sleeping somewhere on New Year's where there are other people around. If you feel like you need to keep it down, a softer, slower position makes it happen. It doesn't make it any less exciting— it's great for the G-spot and you both have access to your clitoris.

2. Side By Side

How To Do It: Lube. Probably, almost certainly lube. You lay facing each other and wrap your top leg around him, adjusting yourselves and helping guide your partner until you find the right fit. Like I said, lube will help.

Why It's Great: It's another one that is great if you need to keep it down, but because both of you can really grind into it's got a slightly edgier feel than spooning. Plus they'll be able to last forever, so it's great if you've settled in for the night.

3. Modified Doggy

How To Do It: It's your favorite doggy style, but with both of you have flattened out a bit, so transfer your weight down onto your elbows and let him come down on top of you. You can use a pillow underneath you to get even more G-spot access.

Why It's Great: Because you start out in doggy style and then you're just so intense and going at it with so much passion that you kind of collapse into this awesome modification, with really deep penetration. It feels hot and intimate at the same time. It's definitely one of my favorites.

4. Butterfly

How To Do It: It helps if your partner is a little higher than you, so make sure it works with you bed or couch. You lie right on the edge of the bed and hook your ankles on their shoulders and then life your hips a few inches off the bed, using your ankles and your arms and back for leverage. If that feels a bit precarious, use a pillow under your back.

Why It's Great: It's really sexy, and if leave the lights on you both have an amazing view. Especially if you're someone who likes to watch during sex, you get to see each other's bodies and the actual penetration. And because they've got the stability of standing up, they can really go for it. It's one of the deepest position, so enjoy .

5. Crab Walk

How To Do It: Your partner gets into the crab position, resting their weight on their butt and hands, and then you (there's no sexy way to say this) sort of crab walk and scooch forward to meet them, eventually lowering yourself onto your partner's penis.

Why It's Great: Because it's New Year's Eve and you want to try something crazy and show off. Yeah, it's a little tricky to get into, but it's a really animalistic position with both of you grinding away and an amazing view for when you're feeling wild. It's the last night of 2015— go big or go home.

6. The Bridge

How To Do It: You start with missionary, but then have him sit back and raise up while you use your feet for traction and raise your butt with them. You can adjust the height to fit both of you.

Why It's Great: Because you love missionary, but tonight it's time for something more. Your partner can really thrust but because you're lifting your hips, they don't have to have all the fun— you can join in. You can help control the penetration (and get an amazing glute workout— seriously this is where pilates and sex meet). Plus, there's great G-spot and clitoris access.

7. X Marks The Spot

How To Do It: It's a tight fit, but it's worth it. You lie on your back on the bed, couch, table— whatever you like—and raise your legs, crossing at the ankle, then help guide your partner in. You can rest your legs against them and just lie back and enjoy.

Why It's Great: Because it's pretty much the tightest position you can get into, and you're feeling limber after some New Year's Eve champagne. It might be a squeeze, but it feels incredible and you can play with your clitoris to make it even more intense.

8. Girl On Top

How To Do It: You know this position, you love this position. You climb on top, guide him inside of you, and you go up and down, grind, lean forward or back— try it all.

Why It's Great: Like I said, your partner doesn't get to have all the fun. You can bump, grind, and get all of the excitement of the other positions but with you in total control. If you're feeling brave, you can even reverse it. But no matter what, you get to embrace your confidence and set up 2016 to be about getting what you need.
