9 Real Housewives I Wish Didn't Leave The Series

by Marenah Dobin

It's crazy to think about how long the Real Housewives franchise has been on the air. (Real Housewives of Orange County began in 2006!) Over the years, there have been new cities added to the mix and lots of new cast members, but there are plenty of Real Housewives stars who left the series who I wish stuck around. I get that most of them had legit personal reasons for exiting the show and others were fired, but that doesn't mean that I don't miss them.

Although the Real Housewives shows feature an ensemble of characters, there are just some ladies who made a major difference with their presence that never should have left the series. Thank God for the constant marathons with throwback episodes. Even still, there have been so many ladies who I miss watching on the show whenever new episodes air, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Long time fans have had to say goodbye to some amazing cast members over the years.

Some of the ladies were pot stirrers who made their shows way more interesting with every scene that they were in. Then there are some women who just lived lives that I loved keeping up with. These are the Housewives I wished did not leave the franchise.

1. Camille Grammer

Although it seems like Camille will be back on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills next season, it's unclear if she's going to be a full-time cast member or if she's just making cameo appearances. Nevertheless, I'm still upset that she left the show to begin with. Camille had an amazing comeback story, starting as a Housewife who everyone hated but becoming one everyone ended up loving and supporting. Plus, she really provides some of the best material for GIFs and memes.

2. Kim Zolciak

Kim is the kind of person who was just made for reality TV. She had conflict with most of the cast members on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she has such an endearing disposition that you can't help but love her. Not only that, but she has so many funny quirks and a constant stream of inappropriate comments. No matter what, Kim is always entertaining when she's on screen, and the end of a great RHOA era ended when she left the show for her own spin-off series.

3. Danielle Staub

I know that Danielle was a polarizing character, but she really made Real Housewives of New Jersey a show worth watching. She always had something interesting going on, and I loved watching her sweet interaction with her daughters. She was a game changer and Bravo needs to get rid of the boring people and put her back on this show!

4. Lauri Peterson

I loved watching Lauri on Real Housewives of Orange County. She went from being a single mom, struggling to make it work to having the most perfect wedding on television. I understand that Lauri left the show to focus on some family issues, but that doesn't mean I don't miss her. Yes, she did make a some guest appearances during Season 8, but that isn't enough for me. I would love it if this OG Housewife made a return to RHOC.

5. Dina Manzo

I know that Dina was super private when she was on Real Housewives of New Jersey, but I still miss her commentary on the other ladies. Sure, Dina could be a little boring at times, but she's a Housewife who pretty much everyone likes. Well, everyone except for her sister Caroline Manzo. Sadly, Dina moved to California, so I'll give her a break for not being on a show that shoots in New Jersey, but I still miss her being a part of the franchise. I mean, come on, there are two shows that film in Cali. She could join one of those, right!?

6. Brandi Glanville

Love her or hate her, I think that a lot of us can agree that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills wasn't as exciting after Brandi left. After all, the season that followed was the one that focused on the repetitive Munchausen-centered story line. Not only that, but the ladies were still talking about Brandi even though she wasn't in the cast!

7. Lynne Curtin

Lynne was such a sweet lady, but she was never boring since she had an overflow of family drama with her rebellious daughters and her financial issues. I'll never forget her going in for mother/daughter plastic surgery. It was also super cute that she was trying to sell those wrist cuffs she made.

8. Jules Wainstein

I know that Jules was pretty boring during her first (and only) season on Real Housewives of New York City, but she started to show more of her personality toward the end. I feel like she would have been way more exciting if she had another season. Then again, she is going through a lot right now with her divorce, so it might make more sense for her to not be on RHONY.

9. Jill Zarin

Back in the day, Jill really made Real Housewives of New York City. She was definitely the nucleus of the friend group, and she had a great personality for television. Sure, she ended up beefing with pretty much every cast member, but I live for that. I would love to watch Jill in the same room with her former friend turned nemesis Bethenny Frankel. Andy Cohen, are you listening to me? Let's bring Jill back!

I know that some of these Real Housewives cast members left on their own accord and for very valid reasons, but as a viewer I selfishly want them back on their shows and I cannot help missing them. Hopefully, other people agree with my opinions and they can all come back — or at the very least make some cameo appearances.
