So you’ve started dating someone, and already, it’s unlike any other relationship you’ve ever had before. Your personalities mesh well, your differences complement each other, you feel at ease with your partner, and everything just seems to click. Some believe that when you meet “The One,” you’ll just know. But if you’re wondering whether your relationship is really meant to be, psychics say there are some signs you can look out for.

If we could tell whether or not someone was "The One" immediately, we wouldn’t have to deal with so much heartbreak along the way. But since that’s not always possible, consulting a psychic who specializes in love and relationships can show you the early signs you've met “The One.” Even if you’re not 100% sold on psychics, they can offer guidance and insight into your life at the very least. They’re also an option if you’re worried you’ve wasting time and energy into someone who might be wrong for you.

Astrologer and psychic medium, Suzie Kerr Wright uses a combination of tarot, astrology and mediumship in her readings. For her, knowing whether a client's current partner or person of interest is "The One" can be seen in the cards, identified in their astrological chart, or felt through strong intuitive hits. "I'm not one for pulling punches, so I tell it like I see it either way," Wright tells Bustle. "But the positive relationships do feel different. As a psychic, I feel what both people are feeling for each other and it's almost overwhelming sometimes."

As a medium, “one of their loved ones may come through and say, 'I like this [person] for you,'" she says.

In general, psychics are highly intuitive. But that doesn't mean you can't use your intuition to determine if someone is right for you, too. So here are some early signs you’ve met “The One,” according to psychics.

Being With Your Partner Makes You Glow

Have you ever noticed how people in new relationships just seem to glow? According to Wright, that's because their energy (or vibration) is so high that nothing seems to bother them. "Real unconditional love raises our vibration," Wright says. "Generally we don't walk around at a high level of awareness, but the right person will trigger that."

People become a better version of themselves when they’re in love, she says. "It's truly a physical, spiritual, and mental transformation."

When someone is with the wrong person, however, it's not like that. "You can palpably feel or see that a person is seeking validation," she says. "You may not be aware of it consciously, but energetically it's there and we respond to that. Our intuition is powerful, but once our minds are convinced that [they are] the perfect one and our heart gets tangled up in all those feels, it's hard to step back into the intuitive side and listen."

There's A Level Of Comfort & Connection You've Never Felt With Anyone Else

Knowing that you’ve met “The One” is a different experience for everyone, professional psychic, Mary Sambrosky, tells Bustle. But a feeling like you’re "home" right away can be telling.

"You can't put your finger on it but there’s a level of comfort and connection you’ve never felt with anyone else," Sambrosky says. "For some, that feeling is initially covered up with some kind of angst or fear. But on some level you really do know."

Initially, this connection may not even give you strong feelings of chemistry either. In fact, Davida Rappaport, psychic and spiritual counselor, tells Bustle that you may just feel at peace when when you meet “The One.” "You may not think this person is 'The One' for you because the spark is small, but trust your intuition," she says. If you feel in your gut that they're "The One," they probably are.

3

You Feel Like Your Best Self

Being in a relationship with your soulmate is supposed to feel different than past relationships. Sambrosky says that's because you should be learning from past mistakes and growing as a person. But aside from that, "The One" should make you feel like your best version of yourself. "They should make you feel like you can be your absolute true, raw self and still be truly 'seen' and truly loved," Sambrosky says.

You'll know that your partner truly sees you for who you are because they'll never make you feel judged or afraid to ask for what you want. "This shows you that the love has transcended the physical level and is real," Karen Rontowksi, psychic and tarot card reader, tells Bustle. It's not always easy to be vulnerable. But if your partner makes you feel safe enough to express yourself and be who you are, that may be an early sign they’re “The One.”

You're In Sync With Your Partner

Relationships require effort, but you shouldn’t feel like you're forcing things to work. When you meet the person you're meant to be with, you'll notice being on the same page often seems effortless. You never have to force conversation, it just flows naturally. You may not have the same hobbies or opinions on every single thing, but you do agree on the things that matter most.

"You both think along the same lines, and your lives and personal goals mesh and blend together," Rappaport says. "Most importantly, you both know you want to be together — no matter what."

5

You Allow The Relationship To Unfold Naturally

When you're with "The One," you don't play games or feel the need to rush into the next big relationship milestone. Instead, you allow things to unfold naturally because you trust that your partner really is right for you.

"This inherent feeling of shared trust alleviates the need to social media stalk or constantly check up on the other person," psychic Lisa Barretta, tells Bustle. "Relationships are not about possessing anyone or molding them into who you want them to be." When you're not anxious about the future of your relationship, you can sit back and just enjoy being with your partner in the moment.

6

The Sex Is Different

Having sex with your soulmate is “magical,” Barretta says. "You can even feel the Sacral chakra (lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel) respond in a different way than it does with just casual sex."

According to her, the sacral chakra in particular, holds all the memories of anyone you've ever had sex with. "It will filter the feelings, so you can be aware of a different vibration sensation," she says. "When you are with 'The One,' your combined vibrations entrain and there is a sense of promise and purpose to your relationship. The initial endorphin high (attraction factor) transmutes into a higher vibration of love. Casual relationships may have the endorphin rush but soon dissipate because the chakras are not able to make a good firm connection."

7

They're Not Quite Your Idea Of A "Soulmate"

This might surprise you, but according to Wright, there's a huge misunderstanding about what being with “The One" really is like.

Why? Because we have a tendency to picture what a "perfect" partner might be, and try to fit a person into that mold, even if they’re not right for us. Once you get out of a relationship, you start to let go of some of your previous notions of what a soulmate looks like, and instead you become stronger, wiser, and more aware of who you are and what you need from a relationship. That's why Wright encourages clients to try and manifest the "right" partner for them, and not their soulmate. "If you're constantly trying to manifest a soulmate, you can pretty much expect challenges and a lot of personal growth," she says.

But when the right one comes your way, it's usually both because you're ready for the relationship, and you're not forcing an idea of perfection. "Your 'One' is probably going to come when you are most comfortable with yourself because we attract what we feel about ourselves," says Wright.

The Attraction Is Instant

For some, love at first sight can actually be a real thing. When you meet someone and realize that you’re both magnetically drawn to each other, this means that you may have a karmic connection to them. According to Rappaport, it’s the kind of relationship that can stem from past lives or life lessons.

“Underneath this attraction, there is also a high amount of mutual chemistry which makes your attraction much more intense,” Rappaport says. “Take a moment and make sure you both share similar interests and are compatible so you can confirm that there is more of an attraction than chemistry.”

9

You Fit Into Each Other’s Lives Really Well

When you meet “The One,” it’ll feel like all the puzzle pieces will fit together. “You know you’ve met ‘The One,’ when cannot imagine spending your life with someone else,” Rappaport says. “You may be dating someone for a while and one morning you wake up and realize that you that don’t want to be with anyone else. It just feels right.”

According to Rappaport, your energies mesh well together, you have a lot of shared interests, you’re both supportive and open to exploring each other’s individual interests, and you communicate well. You may not finish each other’s sentences, but you’ll both be comfortable communicating your needs and taking time to listen to each other.

10

You’re Your Ideal Partner

The person you’re meant to be with will come into your life at the right time. Although “the right time” will vary from person to person, Angela Lenhardt, intuitive life coach and author, tells Bustle that knowing yourself and being happy with you who are will help lead you to that right person. When you know your likes, dislikes, patterns, and behaviors, you won’t waste your time on partners that don’t fulfill your needs. You won’t be in relationships where you have to control or change the other person to be happy. When you know yourself, you’ll be able to choose the right partner for you.

As Lenhardt says, “A divine relationship manifests when you become your ideal mate. Learn how to stand on your own two feet and live your best life, and in return, you will become a magnet for the divine partnership you’re seeking.”
