Kim Kardashian Revealed the Gender of Her Third Child in An Unexpected Way

Although her sisters are staying quiet about their potential pregnancies, Kim Kardashian revealed the gender of her third baby to Ellen DeGeneres and the rest of the world. Kardashian said on the upcoming Nov. 15 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that big sister North has been calling the baby, "Baby Sister," and in doing so, she calmly dropped that her and Kanye West are having another girl. And now that the gender is public knowledge, it's time to start guessing what Kardashian and West will name their third baby because even with DeGeneres' help, Kardashian still doesn't know what her second daughter's name will be.

In September, Kardashian confirmed that she and West were having another baby by sharing the trailer for Season 14 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on Twitter. The clip from the E! show didn't explicitly state that they were having the baby via surrogate, but Kardashian has since openly discussed that fact. As she explained to DeGeneres, that was one of the reasons she held a baby shower for her third child. While she noted that Saint, who will be 2 years old in December, is too young to comprehend that a new sibling is on the way, especially since Kardashian is not pregnant herself, she wanted 4-year-old North to "feel that something's coming and for her to really understand it."

It was actually North's involvement in the baby shower that led Kardashian to casually slip to DeGeneres that their family is having another girl. "People brought toys and gifts and she was opening them all up the next day," Kardashian said. "And she said, 'Mom, you know, since Baby Sister's not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and I'll play with them and just make sure they're all OK for Baby Sister.'" Kardashian also said that North is "really excited" about having a little sister — more so than she was about having a little brother.

Kardashian hasn't said when their surrogate's due date is, but she did tell DeGeneres that they are expecting the baby "very soon," which aligns with the report from Us Weekly that the baby is due before Christmas. But that doesn't mean that West and Kardashian have come up with a name for their baby girl yet since she said, "We're freaking out. We have no name." So she requested that her baby shower guests write down potential names, but she said that none of them stuck.

DeGeneres used her Baby Name Generator to help inspire Kardashian, but unsurprisingly, the names Lip-Kit, West, and Pop didn't interest her. The name Star West was also thrown around, but Kardashian said, "I'm not gonna name her Star," even though she admitted that North likes to call her stuffed animals by that celestial name.

However, you can expect Kardashian's third child's name to follow the same theme as North and Saint. "I do like different names, but like short, easy-to-spell, one-syllable — that's kind of my vibe," she said. But you just may have to wait a bit after the baby is born to know what the name is. Because even with DeGeneres claiming that she and her wife Portia de Rossi gave West the idea for the name Saint, Kardashian admitted that they didn't name their son until days after he was born when they were about to leave the hospital.

So while Kardashian was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote another baby of hers — her new KKW Beauty perfumes out on Nov. 15 — she gave fans some major insight into baby number three. Now, let's just hope that Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner take a page from their sister's book and start talking.
