Bustle's Editors On Chrissy Teigen + Trump's Ban
Was anybody really ready for it to be Monday already? This weekend felt like it flew by, and the start of the workweek came way too fast. But alas, here we are, and boy, is this week shaping up to be a crazy one. Between the new immigration order to Chrissy Teigen's revealing personal essay (more on both subjects later), it looks like we're in for a pretty news-filled couple of days.
So, without further ado, here's what to know about the news and events that had Bustle's editors talking today, Mar. 6:
President Trump + A New Travel Ban
On Monday morning, Trump signed a new executive order on immigration, which now temporarily restricts travel to the U.S. for residents of six majority Muslim nations, rather than the original seven (Iraq is now off the list). Additionally, the order takes away the earlier version's extra restrictions on Syrian refugees. Unsurprisingly, many people are criticizing the new ban, including Bernie Sanders, who called it "a racist and anti-Islamic attempt to divide us up."
Quote Of The Day: "If the ban were announced with a one week notice, the 'bad' would rush into our country during that week. A lot of bad 'dudes' out there!" — Trump, in January. This new ban was announced with 10-days notice. OK, then.
Chrissy Teigen + A Brave New Essay
In a moving essay for Glamour, model, author, and Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen revealed that she's suffering from postpartum depression. After going without a diagnosis for months, Teigen is now undergoing treatment, and is speaking out to share her story and spread awareness about the stigmatized condition. Bravo, Chrissy.
