Bustle's Editors On Serena Williams + The Keystone Pipeline

by Rachel Simon

Happy Friday, everyone! This was one long, hard week, but we managed to make it through, and the weekend is finally in sight. Get out those cozy sweaters and stock up on hot chocolate, because you deserve a nice, relaxing few days.

Before you head into the weekend, though, take a look at all the news and events that had Bustle's editors talking today, Nov. 17:

Serena Williams + A Huge Announcement

Congrats are in order for Serena Williams! On Thursday, the tennis star got married to Alexis Ohanian, just a few weeks after they welcomed their baby girl, Alexis Olympia. Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian were in attendance (NBD), and according to reports, the ceremony might've had a Beauty and the Beast theme. Sounds like a seriously perfect event.

Sad News: Jennifer Hudson and her fiance, David Otunga, have broken up after 10 years together — and Hudson has gotten a protective order against him.

The Keystone Pipeline + What Happened

On Thursday, the Keystone Pipeline leaked 210,000 gallons of crude oil in South Dakota, leading to parts of the pipeline to be shut down. The cause of the spill — considered the worst the state's ever had on record — is currently unclear, and the timing couldn't be worse for those who support Keystone XL, a potential extension of the pipeline that may or may not be approved by Nebraska officials next week.

FYI: Here's what you need to know about the GOP tax plan, and how it could be seriously bad for young women.

Jeffrey Tambor + Accusations

A second woman has accused Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor of sexual harassment. Actor Trace Lysette, who played a trans yoga teacher on the show, claimed that Tambor made sexually aggressive comments and actions towards her on set; Tambor, meanwhile, has denied that he's ever been a "predator," although he admitted to being "volatile and ill-tempered" at times. Amazon is conducting an investigation into the alleged misconduct.

And Another: Sylvester Stallone is denying an allegation that he sexually assaulted a teenager back in the '80s.

NutriBullets + Lawsuits

Uh oh. At least 22 people have claimed that their NutriBullet blenders exploded, causing them burns and other injuries. The company is investigating the claims and denies that the blenders frequently cause danger, but nonetheless, this isn't the first time allegations against NutriBullet have surfaced. If you own one of these appliances, stay tuned...

Pro Tip: These are the perfect Harry Potter gifts to get your friends (or yourself) depending on their Hogwarts houses.

Women + Phrases You Need To Know

With sexual assault and harassment constantly in the news, it's no wonder that a tweet outlining the phrases women should practice using has gone viral. From "you're making me uncomfortable" to "this isn't funny," these quotes — endorsed by Chrissy Teigen — are worth memorizing and using whenever they're needed. It sucks that this list had to be made in the first place, but unfortunately, that's our reality.
