The 'Jersey Shore' Reunion Trailer Will Make You Believe It's 2009 Again

Are ready to get back to the G.T.L. life? Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and the rest of his Jersey pals are. E! has released the official trailer for the Jersey Shore reunion, and you will be forgiven for feeling like it's 2009 again. Even though Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and the rest of their crew have gotten a little older (and more responsible), being around each other seems to make them feel like wild and crazy kids again.

The Jersey Shore Reunion Road Trip is set to air Sunday, Aug. 20, on E!, so you might want to block out that day for nostalgia and spray tan appreciation. In the trailer, the gang is seen strolling the boardwalk, snapping pictures of each other, and, what else, looking for trouble. "The best thing that could happen is Jenni or Pauly getting arrested," Snooki jokes at one point.

If this special does well, there's an excellent chance this will be just the beginning of the reality show (and maybe even scripted series) reunions. E! is hoping to turn Reunion Road Trip into a series designed to get the casts of all your favorite shows back together for literal trips down memory lane. Returning the Jersey friends to the shore could be just the beginning.

And oh, is it ever an amazing place to start. The trailer features far more than Snooki strolling the boardwalk. Somehow, The Situation will end up in a neck brace before the reunion is over, and the gang gets in some quality fist-pumping action for old time's sake. Seeing them all back together in their natural element is even better than watching the mini-Burger King reunion they had earlier this year.

There's also something a little bittersweet about seeing Snooki, The Situation, and Jwoww hang out in 2017 though. Some of them have kids now, and they've all moved on to new, adult lives since their days of hard-partying and coining timeless catchphrases. The trailer feels a bit like going to a class reunion — it's just like old times, but you know it can't last forever.

That's the beauty of a reunion though: the Jersey Shore crew doesn't have to commit to recapturing their youth every week, instead they can hang out, reminiscence, and maybe even get into trouble together again for old time's sake before returning to their grownup lives. A few days of G.T.L. can go a long way, just ask The Situation.
