Gigi Hadid Wore A Visible Thong & Bustier To The 2023 Met Gala

While many stars feel intimidated by the Met Gala, the famed steps — like any runway — are Gigi Hadid’s sartorial playground. Case in point? The supermodel’s bustier-style number at the 2023 Met Gala that also cheekily exposed her thong.

Hadid has been known to turn out at the Met Gala, from last year’s all-red Versace number with an oversized puffer to her Jessica Rabbit-inspired look in 2021. This year was no different. For the Karl Lagerfeld-themed bash, the supermodel wore a draped confection by Givenchy — and it was all sorts of spicy. Let me break it down.

The top featured a sheer bustier bodysuit with a see-through fabric draped across one arm, mimicking a one-shoulder detail. But the bottom half of the ensemble was even spicier. The skirt hung low past her bodysuit, giving the illusion of pelvic cut-outs and a whale tail — aka the exposed thong style that dominated the early aughts. (In fact, the look made its resurgence after Hailey Bieber wore the style at another Met Gala).

Oh, and the skirt was also completely see-through, exposing Hadid’s thong from the back. Didn’t I tell you it was saucy?

She merchandised her look with layered pearl strands — her tribute to Lagerfeld — and a diamond necklace. To match her edgy ‘fit, she styled her blonde locks in a messy half-updo and added rhinestones to her neutral-colored makeup.
