The Most Googled Fashion Designers Of 2015

by Sienna Fantozzi

It's becoming harder and harder these days to stay up on what's current in fashion. There's so many sources of information, and different people saying what they think is in or out, so here's a slightly better barometer to filter through all that and figure out who you should be paying attention to when it comes to fashion: the most googled fashion designers in 2015. I mean, if that many people are searching for them, you're probably going to want to know who they are.

Thinking about the top trending designers from the past year, there are definitely some obvious ones that come to mind. I mean, Karl Lagerfeld is a given (when is he not making fashion headlines?), and Raf Simmons leaving his position at Dior definitely spared several Google searches, but then there are also some designers I wouldn't have expected to see on the list. See, it really is impossible to keep up with everything going on in fashion at once.

But no worries, because I'm going to break down the top ten most Googled fashion designers of the year so you can catch up on everything you may have missed before we ring in 2016.

10. Tommy Hilfiger

I'm not at all surprised that the classic, all-American designer made the list. His preppy clothing is accessible (read: not too avant garde and appropriate for everyday wear), but in addition, Hilfiger announced he was writing an autobiography in 2015, and there's also the fact that Rafael Nadal stripped down to his undies in a Tommy Hilfiger commercial. Oh, and Gigi Hadid walked the Tommy Hilfiger runway last September. NBD.

9. Zuhair Murad

When the news that he was designing Sofia Vergara's wedding dress leaked, I was definitely hitting up Google to see anything and everything I could find.

8. Christian Lacroix

The designer is a fan favorite when it comes to over-the-top couture shows, and this year, he created costumes for three stage productions, including Romeo and Juliet in Paris.

7. Karl Lagerfeld

From his cat Choupette, to an all-fur Fendi show, to his relationship with Kendall Jenner, there's a zillion and one reasons he'd make this list.

6. Elie Saab

Kendall Jenner lead the finale of the Elie Saab runway show, and her black lace jumpsuit was something everyone absolutely needed to see.

5. Tadashi Shoji

The design house announced back in July that it was launching a girls' line, so now kiddies can dress just like Michelle Obama! Hooray!

4. Thakoon Panichgul

A collaboration between one of the top designers and Kohl's is definitely something that would get those fingers flying and browsers searching.

3. Giambattista Valli

In addition to designing ah-mazing gowns for A-list celebrities, the designer also partnered with MAC this year for a seriously amped up makeup palette.

2. Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss

The popular swimwear designer is a must-search come summertime.

1. Raf Simons

He might have left his position at Dior, but he walked right into the top spot for most Googled designer of 2015.
