The holiday-themed coffees are long gone, the snow has (mostly) melted, and it's finally warm enough to shed some layers: Spring is here. Depending on where you live, it might not be hot enough to flaunt bare skin just yet. My advice? Consider donning some plus size floral clothing to embrace the new season instead.
In the fashion world, there is one trend you can count on to reappear year after year come spring, and that is florals. Spring/summer 2016 shows followed suit, featuring many runways littered with flowers. Although one can usually expect to spot beautiful blooms gracing the catwalks, designers think of new, exciting ways to put their own unique spin on this cherished trend year after year. Delpozo showed cornflower blue blooms smattering a layered peach dress, Coach utilized mix and match florals across its designs, and Jeremy Scott showed candy-colored, retro florals. However, the award for the most avant-garde use of flowers in 2016 (so far) has to go to Rodarte. The design house teamed up with Joseph Free to create elegant floral jewelry for its fall 2016 show that was made from actual flowers, including micro-orchids and calla lilies.
