Bustle Beauty Awards 2023

The churn of new beauty products launched every year can feel never-ending — but it also means that more brands are stepping it up when it comes to formulations, textures, shade ranges, and technology. Silky serums that deliver glazed donut skin, shampoos that minimize plastic use and leave hair silky-soft, concealers that cover all evidence of a late night in one sweep — when the bar is set this high, you can trust that the winners of Bustle’s 2023 Beauty Awards are truly the best of the best.

Over the course of six months, we reviewed more than 4,193 submissions, tested 544 products, and narrowed it down to just 99 winners in the categories of skin care, hair, makeup, body care, nails, fragrance, and tools. We enlisted the help of 46 BDG staffers, plus six guest judges to test and review everything, before finally selecting our winners. We rated items based on efficacy, ingredients, inclusivity, and packaging — that magical combo that makes a beauty product one you reach for over and over again.

We also added two new categories — Clean and Eco-Conscious, along with Under-$15 — because we believe that brands that employ sustainable practices are the future, and that quality doesn’t have to mean expensive.
